IN PARADE The Brussels Starlets Baton Girls participated in the Wallace Township 125th parade on Saturday, July 30. Also in the paradeeivas Don McNeil's funny car and his 1958 Chev, which provided transportation for the Grey Township council. A trip to Mother's Pizza and a show at the drive-in was part of the celebrations fur ,Cindy McNeil's 14th birth- day. Attending was Jackie McCutcheon, Linda Ten Pas, Judy Ten Pas and the birth- day girl's mom and dad. The Brussels Pee Wee girls played Wingham girls on Thursday and defeated them. Mr. and Mrs. J.C. McNeil; Brussels and grandson Dan- ny attended the Paisley Beefest on Sunday, July 31. Cindy and Michelle McNeil spent a few days with their aunt Bonnie in Burlington. No appeals were heard at the court of revision concerning the Ellison -Whit- field mupicipal drain. Three tenders were opened for construction of the drain. The low tender of $14,400 of H.L. Roth Enterprises was accepted. Other tenders in- cluded DWR Drainage. $15,- 218 and Owen King Ltd., $1'5;972.50. Larry Fear informed coun- cillor Bob Grasby that his outlet is not adequate for the Ellison -Whitfield municipal drain. If Mr. Fear wishes to pursue adequate outlet, he can petition later. The report resubmitted for the Dockett municipal drain was accepted. Landowners are advised to attempt remov- al of some trees before construction begins. Tenders for the project will close September 6. Court of revis- ion will be held the same date at 7:00 p.m. An estimated $16,000 to construct sidewalks in Wal- ton is high says Dave Johns- ton of Dawson and Johnston Consulting Engineers, Strat- ford. Council received a copy of a certificate of approval for the application of sewage sludge from the Blyth Sewage Treat- ment Plant on land owned by Bruce Bromley of Morris township. In a letter to council, Dale and Starr Bachert said they are concerned with insuffi- cient drainage outlet for lot 24 and 25, concession eight, south part. They were ad- vised they had permission to outlet their water on lot 24 and 25, north part of conces- sion nine. If further drainage is necessary. they are willing to pay their share of the cost. When draining the pro- perty, Doug Kirkby had asked Mr. Bachert to check with councillor Doug Fraser concerning adequate outlet. NJr Fraser said he was never con acted. Councillor Tom Miller and Clem McLellan will contact Mr. Bachert to resolve 444,,problem r and. check thdBlyth' Creek drain as Mr. Bachert wishes it repaired. The Ministry of Agricul- ture and Food advised council that Mrs. Emma Bird has appealed her livestock valu- ers claim. Don Stevenson has been appointed the provincial valuer for the claim and appeal. Council had no objections to a severance request from Fred Brewer of lot 25, 26, concession one. Mr. Brewer has applied for a severance for a parcel of land on which his trailer is located on the property of the Margaret Brewer Estate.
