Frances and Ted Melady
have returned front a trip to
Europe. Their Son; Don, who
is returning- home after
spending two years teaching
in Nigeria, met them in Paris
and they travelled in France
for a week, then to Rome
where they attended a public
audience given by the Pope:
They visited Venice and Spent
several days 4n Germany and
Switzerland. Don will attend
University of Western Ontar-
io this fall.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Murray, Allan Murray, Larry
Murray, Marilyn Murray and
Dave Wylie returned home
last week ,from Cape Breton,
helm,
N.S. While there, they at-
tended a wedding reception
for Gerard and Cathy Landry,
and also visited with friends
in Prince Edward Island.
Cathy and Gerard Landry also
returned from Cape .Breton
and are spending this week
with the Murrays and will
leave on Friday for their home
in Yellowknife, N.W.T.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Melady
of Brighton spent the week-
end with Mrs. Mary Melady.
Jack has just returned from
Newfoundland where he was
getting writing material for
another book he is working
on.
Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse
Cronin and Mr. and Firs.
Clarence Ryan attended a
barbecue on Saturday at Mr.
and Mrs. Keith Kelly'shome,
Stratford celebrating Sister
Mary Eckert's 65th birthday.
Other members of the Eckert
family also attended.

A bridal shower was held
on Tues. evening Aug. 2 in
honour of Diane Deloyer,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Deloyer, who is to
become the bride of Tom
Dickson on Aug. 13. The
shower was held in the St.
Patrick's Church Hall. The
hostesses were Mrs. Cecile
Louwagie. Mrs. Beatrice Lou-
wagie and Mrs. Kathleen
Aikens.
Mrs. Aikens welcomed all
in attendance and Miss Jayne
Delaney accompanied the la-
dies as they sang a new
version of the words to Old
Lang Zync. Miss Nancy Lou-
wagie read a poem and Jayne
Delaney sang and played a
number which she arranged
specially for the shower. The
bridal alphabet contest was
conducted by Nancy Louwag-
ie and marriage advice was
given by the following neigh -
hour girls: Susan Louwagie.
Cathy Louwagie, Christine
Louwagie, Colleen Deloyer
and Ingrid Louwagic.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack O'Reilly
Tim. Angela and Amy, Kit-
chener visited with Mrs,
Marie Melady. All attended
the Melady reunion in Goder-
ich last week. Mr, and Mrs.
Fergus Melady of Belle River
visited with Mrs. Melady
after attending the reunion.
Mrs. Theresa Melady of
Goderich was visiting Mrs.
Melady and Mrs. 'Beatrice
Fadden, Mississauga visited
with Mrs. Melady and attend-
ed the Maloney - De Block
wedding.
Our sympathy is extended
to Mrs. Ann Vogels and her
family on the recent passing
of her husband Paul Vogels
this past week.
