Branches of the Zone were wen represented with I5 teams participating. Sea - forth came first and a team from Clinton second and the third place team also came from this branch. We had three teams qualify for the district golf to be held sometime in August at Cam- bridge. After the golf the Auxiliary served a delicious toast beef dinner. Once again the holiday season is upon us with lots of visitors dropping in to the branch from other towns and cities from all parts of the country. A friendly smile and hello to these visitors would probably be appreciated and give them something to remember of Seaforth, the friendly town. Quite a few of our out-of-town Associate members will be home visit - ces. This Thursday will be the,; July meeting of the Execu- tive at 8 pan. On the agenda will be a proposal to discuss the widening and extension on the kitchen. President Peter Malcolm would like all executive members to be present if possible. ” Two weeks ago we lost another of our First War, veterans in the person of George Inglis, p member of the Howick Branch at Goble. ' George was a past Comman- der of this Zone and for years served as zone Service Offi- cer. A Legion service was held at Gorrie with approxi- mately 300 Legionaires from the District where he had been well known. The mem- bers of our branch extend to the family our sympathies I6 their loss. Mr. and Mrs. William Brown, Jarvis Street, retdraed home from a three week holiday visiting their son Bill, wife and family in High Prairie, Alberta. They were also in the Rocky Mountains for a week. Mrs. Carol Carter is presently attending teacher's week at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Stephen P. Murray who graduated from Wilfrid Laurer University on May 27th is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Murray of Dublin and James McQuaid of Seaforth.
