Twenty couples entered to play and by all reports everyone enjoyed the day. The winning couple was Jim Watson and Carol Ann Doig and the most honest golfers were Mike Trapnell and his. partner Doreen Eisler. On behalf of the golfers and the branch we thank Jim for his work and organization. Saturday June 18 is .the Honors and Awards night. Any member who has not been contacted yet and would like to attend please get in touch with Dick Whiteley or Jack Muir for tickets. A logjam cocktail hour from six to seven, dinner from seven to eight and the presentations from eight till nitle and the remainder of the evening will be spent dancing to live music. On Saturday, Jnne 25 the branch stag golf tournament will be held at the Seaforth • Golf and Country Club. The list is on the sports board so anyone wishing to play please sign your name as soon as possible. Piano students hold recital for moms A piano recital was held Thurs. evening June 9 by the students of Mrs. Jane Vin- cent at her home. Mothers were the guests. Those giving piano solos were Karen Coleman, Danny, Lorrie and Dean Glanville, Kate and Jane Papple, Anne and Sharon Wilson, Tracey Bedard, Tracy Reid, Joyanne Van Vliet, Ron and Cathy Pryce, Allyson Scott. Mary Lou Stewart, Lisa and Lori Strong,_Brenda Pullman and June Haney. Also giving solos were Cheryl McLlwain, student of Brenda Pullman and Ty Pap- ple, student of Marion, Turn- bull. Danny, Lor ieatld Dean Glanville gave -piano trio. Piano duets were played by Allyson Scott and Jane Pap- ple; Lori Strong and Brenda Pullman; vocal duet Lori and Lisa Strong accompanied by Lisa. Sunday was our Decoration Day when we visit the local cemeteries and place a small Maple leaf flag by the grave of the deceased veteran. If anyone finds we have missed a grave please get in touch with President Peter Mal- colm. A representative from the Katimavik group outlined their work program for the coming year. Delegates for the upcoming Ontario Llorti- cultural Convention to be held in Hamilton this ,week were given their final brief- ing. The guest speaker from the Bruce Trail Association gave a presentation of Slides and commentary. The trail starts at Queenston. There are many wild flowers and beautiful scenery. If anyone should decide to walk the trail, it would take 30 days at the rate of 15 miles per day., The flower show will be Aug. 10 at the Legion Hall. All members are urged to take part, even if only one entry each. The next meeting will be September 14. Nine societies are invited to hear Florence and Gordon Brown speak On lilies. Dates to remember are: July 10 -bus trip to Royal Botanical Gardens and Phipps African Violets; Aug. 6- Farmers' Market, Aug. 10 - Flowei Show.
