It is the greatest mistake in the world ever to eat a heavy meal when tired. Indigestion is sure to be set up, and the food never nourishes the body. After a long, fatiguing expedition, or journey, or a day's shopping, a woman should never sit taowre immediately to a heavy dinner or sapper. Let her take a onp of beet - tea or a sandwich, and a glass of milk, and rest. In half an hour or au hour she can eat the meal she requires with benefit. The early morning of Jaly 19th saw the palming away of one of the very old residents of the township of Culross is person of William McPherson, of the 9th concession. Mr. McPherson had considerably outrun the alloted span of life, having reached the age of 83 years and six months. He had enjoyed good health until about a year ago when be underwent an operation for the removal of a growth on the arm, since which time he has been gradually sinking. To finish the edges of doilies or other buttonholed edges cat the goods a little distance from the line where the button- holing is to go and hem it back to that line. Then buttonhole the folded edge - This prevents the frazzled -looking edge so often seen after washing and gives it a padded appearance. In many of the new jumper suits the lower portion of the skirt at each seam is open and strapped with pointed bands exactly matching the jumper waist bands. The style is very good indeed. The bands must be made in graduated lengths, appearing in pyramid shape upon the skirt. Fly -time is here, and a good formula to be used with the ordinary hand spray- er will doubtless be welcomed by dairy- men. Here it is :—To one quart of kero- sena add a teaspoonful each of oil of tar, fish oil, carbolic acid and oil of penny- royal. This mixture, thrown in a fine spray on a cow, is death to fifes and mosquitoes. Warts are simply an undergrowth of flesh covered,. with a hardened akin. Thef are of two varieties, hard or soft, and either cin be removed without much difficulty. A very simple remedy con- sists in wetting the wart several times a day with a piece of moistened common washing soda. This will manse them to disappear almost before one is aware of it. One of the difficulties that the amateur dressmaker has to encounter is the finish- ing of the skirt made from cloth or similar material. To get the proper result the skirt should be bound with soft silly want binding, then turn under 10 the depth of the hem. Making en intern after the manner of the otdinary hem means an unsightly ridge when the skirt is pressed. _i: DON'T DIE AT 45 wrrrrnrrrrrvvr. r rrxrrrrrr not a+ w 8' w t! a s• to 8' sOF TEE FOLLOWING GOODS tAt Cost and Less.I C earance Sa e D D est s , MUSLINS--Beautiful Flowered Nluslins, regular.. 30e at 25e • . 0 ,t tt „ „ 25e at 20e 0 " ,t it " 20e At 17e fe ,t n tt tt . , . , . • 15e at 121• a. „ to it 12?-3at 10e 41 II It tt It „... { 8e at 5e i, , t• tCORSETS--D. & A., up•tb•date Corsets, regular $1.00 at 800 ; regular 1' A 75e at 60c. sp ,s s GLOVES --Ladies' Black Kid Gloves, regular $1,25 for 80e; regular1 f t. $l,Q1 for 60e, "t 0" WHITEWEAR—Ladies' Ready-made Whitewear, odd linea, Cheap 4. it White Lawn Shirt Waists, fine embroidery trimmed, regular y w $1.50 for $1.00; regular $1,25 for 90e, 4' w Black Sateen Underskirts, regular $1.40 for $1.25; regular 1 $1.25 for $1.00. People who suffer with headache, giddiness, palpitation, bad taste in the mouth, drowaineas, distress after eating, and any of the other distressing results of indigestion, are in serious danger. Their digestive organs cannot oars for the food properly and hence the coats of the blood vessels in the brain get little nourishment, become brittle, and finally yield to the fierce blood pressure and one is then said to have a "shook," be paralizad, or die from appoplexy. In alt diseases of digestion and untri- tion tie proscription called Mt•ona has proven itself of great value. It le relied noon to -day as a certainty to relieve the worst troubles of indigestion and make a complete cure. That Mi•ona will cure the worst forme of stomach trouble, canner excepted, and give quick relief in indigestion is proven by the guarantee Walton McGib- bon gives with every 80 -cent box t0 re- fund the money unless Mi•ona ourea. A guarantee like this must inspire con- fidence.
