Nimble footed step dancers entertain the residents at Seaforth Manor

under the direction of Mrs.
Lila Storey and Donna
MCLlwain last Tuesday eve-
ning at Seaforth Manor. F-ay-
tured during the program
were the Cross Country
square and step dancers
whose nimble feet kept time
to the caller. Their costumes
of red and white were most
colourful, Sheila Cook also
stepdanced and the 3rd edi-
tion. little girls brought
smiles to many faces. One of
the highlights was the family
tree with grandmother,
daughters and grandchildren
all, dancing together. The
country cowgirls also ata twu
numbers.
Vocal solos and a duet by
Lori and Scott Jewitt were
well received, accompanied
at the piano by their mother.
Mr. Sid Pearson thanked all
who had participated. Re-
freshments were then served.
Marc Caron acted as M.C.
and also accompanied on the
mouth organ with Nelson
Howe and Jack Storey on
violins.
On Monday afternoon at 1
p.m. residents had the oppor-
tunity of attending the spring
play at' Seaforth Public
School, "Tom Sawyer.' when
students from grades 5-8 did
an excellent oertormance and
Tont and Huck were most
believable. Special thanks to
the boys of Sheila Morton's
class who assisted wheelchair
residents to and from the
school making it possible fora„
greater number to attend and
enjoy this fine performance.
The scenery and lighting
added to the visual enjoyment
of this fine old story.
Bingo was held on. Friday
afternoon . with thirty resi-
dents in attendance.

on Wednesday afternoon
with Rev. Archie Robertson
in charge. Mr. and Mrs.
Mervyn Cobb of Clinton pro-
vided special music for the
service with Mrs. Lobb as
accompanist.
Friday morning Father
Caruana held mass for all
Catholic residents.
Visiting with residents last
Thursday afternoon were
Mrs. James Slattery and Mrs.
replacing Mrs. moved to another district.
Mrs, Maxine Elliott ac-
companied by Mrs. Betty
McLean enjoyed an outing to
Lueknow and Wingham.
Maxine visited with her sister
in Wingham and also her
father in Lucknow Nursing
Home.

les Ross.

Recipe of the week
ORIENTAL SPINACH SALAD
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. soy sauce
-1/4 tsp. sugar
3 tbsp. oil
1 green onion with top, minced fine
6 cups torn spinach leaves
2 cups lettuce
In salad bowl blend vinegar, soy sauce. and sugar. Stir in
oil and onion. Add spinach. and cabbage. Toss lightly to
coat. If desired, serve in cabbage -leaf lined bowl. Serve at
once. ,Makes 4.6 servings.

Sea(orth, were married at St. James' Roman Catholic Church
in Seaforth do April 23. Sharon Pethick. RRl Seaforth was the
maid of honour and the bridesmaids' were Lyn Hugill of RR2
Seaforth and Wilma Van Dyk, of RR4 Seafgrth. Michelle
Henderson, of RR 1 Brucefield was the flowergiil and Michael
Hugill, of RR1 Seaforth was the ringbearer. The groomsman
was Steve Steinman of Walton while the ushers were Ken Van
Dyk, of RR4 Seaforth and Bob Jansen of RR2 Seaforth. Fattier
Caruana officiated. The reception took place at Seaforth and
District Community Centres. After their wedding trip to.
Wheels Inn. Chatham, the couple will reside at 73 North Main

ceremony at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Seaforth on
March 25. The matron of honour was Joanne Holland of
Egmondville and the bridal attendants included Chris
Ducharme of Kitchener, Lisa Curtis of Kitchener avid Deb
Curtis of Calgary. Alberta. Amy Groothuis of Kitchener and -
Krissy, Holland of Egmondville were flower girls. The
groomsman was Scott Curtis from Kitchener and Jim
Groothuis of Seaforth. Jeff Dahmer and Steve Weigel, both of
Kitchener were ushers. Rev.. 1. C. Caruana officiated and Garry
and Judy Groothuis provided the music. The reception was
