JOHN TEMPLEMAN 345.2346 Mrs. Cameron Vivian and Mrs. Orpha Norris were in charge of the Agriculture and Canadian Industries meeting of the Staffa W.I. at the township hall Mar. 30. Mrs. Vivian introduced Mrs. Wil- fred Fearn, who gave a talk on their camping experiences over the years where they have camped in the nine of the 10 provinces and 25 states of U.S.A. She also showed many interesting slides. Mrs. Fearn was thanked by Mrs. Norris. The president Mrs. Lloyd Miller presided. Sixteen members and three visitors answered the roll call by naming their handiest labour saving device. The Ad"rii- collection will go to Water or all plus a donation from branch. Mrs. Miller gave a report of the district executive meeting held recently at Motherwell. Voting dele- gates for the district annual May 10. were appointed. Mrs. George Vivian gave a report on the Status of Rural Women meeting which she had attended recently in ' Clinton. Ideas were discussed con cerning the 80th anniversary of Staffa' Women's Institute in July. Mrs. Carter Kerslake and Mrs. Jack Burchill served lunch. A combined Good Friday service for the congregations d Hibbert United and Cro- marty Presbyterians was held Friday evening in the Cromarty Presbyterian church. 'Rev. Ken Knight and Rev. Marion demonstrated wash- ing and cutting Sandra Viv- ian's hair. Members asked Marion questions on how to 'take better care of your hair and different grooming pro- ducts. Marion then demonstrated a hot oil treatment oh Janice Vivian's chair explaining when and why you use it. Fach member did a little foot pampering by soaking their feet in hot water and a solution called epson salts. When Staffa Good Groo- mers held their fifth meeting at the -home of Debbie Renne on Mar. 21 guest Marion Segeren showed how to do facial masks and apply make- up. The two people who demonstrated where Tracey Parsons and Katie Kerslake. Each girl had a manicure. They soaked their hands then applied a lotion on their cuticles, filed them and applied nail polish. When Staffa #2 Good Groomers met at the home of Debbie Renne Mar. 29, Debbie Vandenberk showed ..t...;> them how to do the French Braid on Betty Anne Rynen and Sheila Riley. They tested two hair dryers to see which dried the fastest, Taunya Van Allen dried Lisa Gardi- ner's hair with one blower and Tracey Parsons dried Lee Ann Dow's hair with the other hair blower. They test- ed which was better the curling iron or steam curlers. Susan Harburn curled Susan Roney's hair with the curling iron and Sheila Riley curled Katie Kerslake's -hair with the steam curlers.
