the Walton Community Hall
Mar. 25 to bid farewell to
Harvey and Bessie McClure.
They will be moving to
their new home in Seaforth in
the near future.

the door with over 100 people
signing the guest book.

Harvey and members of his
family were called to the
platform and all introducer.
Unfortunately Bessie was un-
able to attend. She had the flu
and was missed by everyone
there. We trust by now she is
on the mend. Their family of
eight boys and one girl were
all present except Rae who is
a teacher at Forestburg,
Alberta.
Gerald Watson read the
following address:
Dear Harvey and Bessie:
Since moving time is coming
quickly
As Harvey and Bessie know
It's always fun to remember
So let's go on with the show
First we will begin with
Harvey
A tall and handsome guy
Had hardly himself establish-
ed
When the Walton girls were
giving hip the eye
In the year of thirty-seven
In the sunny month of May
Harvey sowed his first crop in

The neighbours were full of
tricks.
It was the year of forty-seven
WO the spring planting all
done
Both Harvey and Bessie ex-
claimed
"What we need now is a little
First came Bill, Lavern and
Clyde,
Then Neil and curious Rae,
Next Fred, Ed and Stanley
Would any more come their
way?
Everyone said "A perfect ball
team"
When the ninth child came
She was the bright eyed
center fielder
And Carolyn was her name.
Soon one farm was not
enough
So you purchased some more
land,
All farms for a mile and a
quarter.
The years slip by so quickly
With both sunshine and cloud
You've raised a wonderful
fancily
You both must be very proud.
Now where has the family'
gone
Bill, Lavern and Clyde are
still around,
But Neil has gone to London.
The other boys cab be seen
In Walton, almost anytime
Unless they're away playing
broomball,
Or out spending their last
dime.
Now Carolyn comes up from
Toronto,
To do the boys' income tax,
Sister Dorothy cooked and
cleaned •
For Harvey in his bachelor
life
Something must have been
amiss
Because he decided he need-
ed a wife
Now about the, same time
Lit:the 5eaforth'Hospital
kitchen
Bessie Callum came to town
As the new dietician.
Two single people
Now how would they meet'?
leave it to the Agars
1t was no small fete.
Out to Agars one March night
The two of them did go
By the end of that very night
Bessie had a new beau.
'outhern Ontario, he did
travel
To meet with Bessie's folks
Ile had to go down to Sarnia
To prove it was not a hoax.
Wedding bells peeled in the
fall
On September 28 of forty-six
A chiveree welcomed than
I'm sure they are all proud of
their sister
Shn fills them in on the facts.
Since you've bought a house
in Seaforth
Leaving the boys on the farm,
The Walton community will
surely miss you
Your hard work and all your
charm.
Now in Seaforth, Harvey
might have one problem
A phone call the boys are
going away
The cows and calves need to
be looked after
So out to the farm for the day.
So hopefully we'll see you
returning
It's only a short distance away
Please drop in and see us
quite often /
We will always welcome your
stay.
We wish you health and
happiness,
May your future be sunny and
bright
Please accept this gift as a
remembrance
From all of us gathered here
tonight.
Signed on behalf
of your friends
and neighbours.
Bill Shortreed presented
them an envelope of money.
Harvey made a fitting reply.
The evening closed with a
social half hour of chat over
sandwiches and coffee.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Huether
and John accompanied Mr.
and Mrs. Terry Kelly and
Michael of Dublin to Guelph
University when they attend-
ed open house last Monday.

THIS WEEK'S' SPECIAL
Decorate your
own Easter eggs
Colorfully decorated Easter Eggs can be
an inexpensive and fun project the whole
family can enjoy and can be made using
food color, decorations and odds and ends
from around the house. Or for a special
Easter treat, make homemade chocolate
dipped eggs with a simple uncooked
fondant recipe.
The first step in dying Easter Eggs is to
hard -cook the appropriate number of eggs.
Choose eggs that are clean and smooth and
select containers that will hold enough
liquid to cover an egg without overflowing.
Pour boiling water into the container and
for each teaspoon of food color, stir in 2
teaspoong,gf inegar to set the color: The
intensity of t . color depends upon the
amount of food color added to the boiling
water.
Dip the hot, hard -cooked eggs into the
dye (a slotted spoon or tongs are good
utensils to use to immerse and remove
eggs). When an egg has reached the
intensity of color desired, remove to a wire
rack to dry and cool. Put a piece of waxed
paper under the rack to catch any drops of
color that drop from the eggs.
After dying several eggs, the color won't
be as intense. Add. more color to the water
and stir. In addition to red, green, yellow,
and blue, other colors may be blended by
using the chart on the back of the food
color box.
After the eggs are cool enough to
handle. you can make fancy eggs by gluing
scraps of lace, rick rack, or braid to the
colored eggs. White glue or rubber cement
works well as an adhesive. To make a polka
dot egg that has texture and dimension use
cinnamon, decors and silver decors, Other
dyed eggs may be given designs with glue
and then dusted with crystals, rainbow
