forth PeeWee 'A's take two games in best -of -five against Durham

Pee Wee A's eliminated
Wingham from W.O.A.A.
playoffs as they won their
second game of a two out of
three series.
Both teams were playing a
good game of hockey when
Terry Gray picked up a pass
from Darren Akey and Brad
Beuttenmiller to beat the
Wingham goalie and open the
scoring for Seaforth. The
'continual forechecking and
back checking of both teams
and sharp goaltending kept
the second and most of the
third period scoreless.
However with two minutes
remaining in the game Brad
Bcuttenntiller picked up the
puck in his own zone and
skated to the other end of the
ice to beat the Wingham
goalie again and give Sea -
forth their insurance goal.
The game ended 2-0 for
Seaforth, eliminating Wing -
ham and advancing Seaforth
to the next round of
W.O. A. A. playoffs.
Next the Pee Wees partici-
pated in the Goderich Young
Canada Week Pee Wee
Tournament.
They won their first game
against Dresden 5.2 Mar. 19.
Dresden opened the scoring
Curlers.. have busy week
Seaforth Curling Club has
been well represented in
several area clubs over the
past few weeks.
The ladies rink of Joan
Beuerman, Geraldine Sic -
mon. ,lanet Hillebrecht and
Elsie Beuermann were the
top winners in Milverton,
Besides winning first prize
they brought hone six of the
draw prizes as well. •

rink curled in the ladies spiel
in Goderich. Enjoying good
curling and home hospitality

Lois King.
Off in the other direction
Gerry and Darlene Hether-
ington along with relatives
curled in Stratford and Till-
sonburg . -
Bill Campbell Jr, with Gord
Prvice. Mike Thomas and Tim
Collyer went to Ottawa. They
.placed 16th out of 256 teams
of curlers in the city of Ottawa
men's spiel.
A good time was had by all
who attended the curling
dance last Saturday night.

In the second game. Sea -
forth met Durham•and elim-
inated Them with a 4-1 win.

Mike Schoonderwoerd and
Blair Beuermann two each
and Rick MacLean.
Seaforth sect Clinton on
Saturday, March 26. The
locals got off to a slow start
but finally Brad Beuttenmil-
ler opened the scoring in the
first period.
Then Flinton tied the game
I.1 with only 20 seconds
remaining in the second
period. In the third period
Seaforth tried everything. butt
couldn't score. Clinton get-
ting -a gbound off the boards
in front of Seaforth net, beat
the goaltender and took the
lead 2.1 with only two and
half minutes remaining.
Although the locals tried
hard, they could not tie tjte
score and the game ended 2-1
in Clinton's favour, eliminat-
ing Seaforth from any further
competition in this tourna•
meat.
Meanwhile the Pee Wees
started their final round of the
W.O.A,A. playoffs by play-
ing Durham in Seaforth Mar.

Ringette end season
The Seaforth houseleague
ringette finished off its sea•
son recently with four
games.
Feb. 24, Seaforth went
down in defeat to Exeter by a
score of 8-3 Tammy Nash
picked up two goals and an
assist and Angie Reid Ock-
cted the ether goal and an
assist.
A week later. Exeter re-
turned to Seaforth but a
strong Seaforth team finally
defeated Exeter 7-5. Tammy
Nash and Pam Campbell led
the team with a pair of goals
each. Brenda ,lessome pick-
ed up a goal and an assist, as
did Shelly O'Brien. Angie
Reid also pocketed a goal and
Susan Rowcliffe managed an
assist. Also an honorable
mention to superb goal tend •
ing by Meagan Alkemadc
and Tracy Fortune.
March 17. Seaforth had a
pair of games. In the after-
noon Seaforth soundly beat
Guelph 18.4. Shelly O'Brien
led the team with fire goals
and four assists. Tan rhv
Nash was cl6Re bt`hind with
six goals and two assists.
Other goal scorers were
Sherri Kling with a goal and
two assists, Pam Campbell
with two goals and two
assists. Shelly Nigh also got
two goals and two assists and
Angie Reid with two goals.
S6san Rowcliffe picked up
two assists and Angie Roth
and Janice Rodney had an
assist each.
Seaforth finished the sea-
son off on a bright note by

all season.
There will he a mother and
daughter ringette game from
5-6 on March 30 followed by
a potluck supper for all
ringette girls and parents at
6:30 in the upstairs hall at
the arena.
