Klungel opened the regular
March council meeting with a
request for a one -minute
silent tribute to councillor
Irene Davis' hushand Ernie
"Ernie Davis worked for
Hensall, and made it a better
place to live". Klungel said.

figures after an accumulated
net revenue of 875.099 from
the previous year. and 1982
expenditures and transfers of

money.
Kevin and Janet Bowman

to question a 910 parking tine
Mrs. Bowman had received
for parking on the west side of
Nelson Street while applying
for a job at the Queensway
nursing home. Bylaw enforce-
ment officer Herman Van
Wieren defended the ticket,
explaining that moveable
lengths of concrete do not con-
situte a standing curb.
Bowman said the fine
would be paid, but as
newcomers to this communi-
ty he and his wife had taken
this occasion to tell council he
believed parking and no park-
ing areas should be more
clearly marked.
"There should be signs
there. Why should someone
else get nailed for the same
infraction as I did'" he asked.
Later. in his verbal report
on streets and drains. coun-
cillor Cecil Pepper said many

were in need of repair or
replacement. and the parking
signs defining the fire lane at
the arena should he moved to
cont ply with the village
bylaw. Other parking signs
are not tilted 10 the proper 30
degree angle, He suggested
the installation of three school
crossing signs at main
crossover points.
Solicitor Dan Murphy will
be asked to send a letter to
Hensall Motors requesting the
removal of vehicles from Lot
201 until proper rezoning pro-
cedures are followed, Present
use of the lot is in violation of
Hensall's secondary plan.
