Varna speaker wins district
On Sunday March 13 13111
Dalrymple attended the
District Public Speaking
finals at ' Kincardine. Our
entry John Kalbfletch from
Varna, winner in his age
group at the zone level, again
won at the district level. John
will now move on to the area
finals in Barrie on April 17.
To have a chance to speak
at the area finals is quite an
accomplishment- To will you
are the best in all of
South -Western Ontario. We
offer you . congratulations,
John and wish you the best in
Last Saturday we had two
teams playing in the Crib-
bage Tournament in Hanover
at the district level. The team
of Jim Watson, Gav
Gemmell, Jim Burdge and
Paul Doig just missed out but
the team consisting of Don
Eaton, Bill Wilbee, Al.
Nicholson and Ron
Beuerman managed a fourth
place finish and a chance to
attend the Provincial finals -in
Toronto in April. We wish
you the best when the time
cd'mes in Toronto.
At the general, meeting
Thursday evening, Which
once again was poorly
attended a request to helm in
the purchase of a new van
with a hydraulic lift for the
handicapped at Huronview
was acted upon. The legion
will donate S1000. 1 under-
stand the other branches in
the zone were asked for a
donation as well. Apparently
there is nothing in their
yearly budget for the
purchase of vans.
This Sunday is the zone
meeting in Goderich. Anyone

Gairning Those
Squabbles
Few things can gray a parent more
quickly than the constant bickering of
otherwise normal children. In big things
and small, most brothers and sisters are
highly proficient in irritating one
another. NearlyEall siblings engage in
mutual harrassment.
Why do brothers and sisters fight?
Why can't they be loving and kind?
How can we help our children develop
healthy relationships?
If you're a parent you know
what I'm talking about!
On Friday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. a
discussiowon this subject is going to be
held at the home of Archie and Sharon
Robertson. A number Of the parents
from Bethel Bible Church are going to
share some of their successes and
failures in this area of children's
squabbles. Some helpful strategies are
.,.,going,.to..13e shared,-.
You are invited to come, listen and
share some of your experiences in a
relaxed informal atmosphere. For more
information call .
