The Brodhagen 4-11 club
met at the C of C hall,
Brodhagen.
The president Bev Replan,
opened the meeting. Scretary
Colleen Gilbert read the min-
utes. The roll call "Fitness
is" was answe}ed by each
member.
The leader Barb Scher•
barth, outlined the needs and
benefits of exercise for both
the young and old. Each girl
demonstrated an exercise
and the members followed
along to the music of the day.

Seaforth & District Minor Hockey draw winners were
Christine Tremeer and Miles Little.
Area delegates who attended the Farm Safety Association
Inc. conference in London were, representing Hur"n, Donald
Young and Hugh Flynn and from Perth, Barbara MacLean, of
RR2, Staffa and Blyth Lannin and Tom Schoonderwoerd of
R.R. 2 Dublin.
A graduate student at York University is doing research
into the-CKNX barn dance, broadcast over CKNX radio from
1937 to 1963. She would like to hear from people with
reminiscences. tapes.of performances and other memoribilia.

Andy and Winn McLean returned home Sunday from a
three week trip to Arizona and the southern USA.
John Flannery attended the Drycleaning Ontario confer-
ence at the Holiday Inn in London on March 11 and 12.

After some "huffing and
puffing the meeting _ re-
sumed with the activity
"Stand Up for Nutrition"
when the girls found out that
they had not eaten nutritional
food that day.
Canada's Food Guide was
discussed and the calorie
count of many foods which
exercise can use up. A
balanced diet of proteins,
fats, carbohydrates, vita-
mins, minerals and water will
produce a fit body. The girls
are to list three exercises that
can be done during their daily
routine for the next meeting.
At the third meeting Jean
Ahrens introduced Gail
Smith. local hairdresser who
demonstrated on Marilyn
Ahrens, shampooing, hair
cut, blow drying and the
-curling iron. The girls asked a
number of questions regard-
ing shampoo, hair care and
conditioners, perms. and
curling to the guest.
Bev Rapien thanked her
and presented her with a gift
. on behalf of the club. The
meeting resumed with the
girls answering the "Hair
Facts or Friction'' quiz.
Each member is to bring
two pictures of hairstyles they
like and explain the type of
person they suit and why
There were 15 tables in
play at the euchre party
March 1 at thea Brodhagen
Community Centre. Winners
were Dorothy Rose, Marjorie
Smith, Joan Murray, Roy
Buddenhagen, Ken Rose,
Edward Schcrbarth. March 8
there were 18 tables in play.
Winners were Toledo Parrott,
Shirley Rose, Marjory Smith,
George Jarmuth. Brock Sin-
namon, Neil Rapien.

PEARL CUMMINGS
Suddenly as the result of
an accident on Thursday,
March 10. 1983, Pearl Cum•
mings of Clinton, died in her
67th year. She was the wife
of Frank Cummings., Mother
of Ken of Laval, Quebec,
Harry of Guelph and Gary of
Stratford, also by 7 grand-
children. She is also survived
by two sisters Verna (Mrs.
Arnold Rathwcll) of Port
Elgin, Mary (Mrs. Gordon
Horner) of Kitchener and five
brothers, Wes Hugill of
Kitchener, Bill Hugill, Clif-
ford Hugill and Clarence
Hugill all of Godcrich and
Elmer Hugill of Clinton.
Predeceased by one son
Roger Cummings and one
sister lona (Mrs. Reg Carr);
and by one brother Harold
Hugill. The late Mrs. Cum•
mings rested at the Ball and
Falconer Funeral Home. 153
High Street, Clinton after 7
p.m. Saturday. Funeral ser-
vice was held on Monday,
March 14 at 2 p.m. Interment
Clinton Cemetery.
