After what seemed like a slow start, Hagarsville scored an easy goal .through John Moylan's pads at the 5:52 mark. Not to be outdone, Seaforth . came back at the 3:01 mark to score off Steve Papple's stick with assist going to Jason. B. (Photo by Svela) Bantams advance to WOAA finals On Feb. 21 Seaforth travelled to Mitchell to play the first W.O.A.A. Bantam "CC" play-off game of the best of two of this series. T he Mitchell team over -powered Seaforth by a score of 8-2. The two goals were scored by Pat Murray assisted by R9n Pryce and Mark Stapleton and Terry Gray assisted by Jeff Reid. On Feb. 22 Mitchell return- ed to Seaforth to play the second game of this series. [his was an all together different game as the Sea - forth team came on strong and won this game 4-2. Pat Murray opened the scoring with a goal assisted bynMark Stapleton and Mike Betties. Within minutes Captain Mark Stapleton scored unas- ' sistcd near the end of the first , period. This gave Seaforth the lead of 2-I until the 7:55 mark when Shawn Fryfogle for Wingham scored. tying the game up. In the first period, the Ayr team pulled it together early at the 9:54 mark to slip it by John Moylan. John gathered his wits about -him and foiled any further .scoring in that period. Seaforth couldn't find a direct route to Ayr's goalie and the score remained 1-0 for Ayr at the end of the first period. Second period started,with doom and gloom. Ayr scored at the 8:58 and 3:24 mark. There was lots of encourage- ment from the stands for the green team but no breaks again. The third period was a repetition of the first. Ayr scored at the 5:14 mark and didn't seem likely that Steve Papple's shots were going to go in when the buzzer went, Seaforth had to concede that time had run out.
