MEROi In loving memory of, a
dear husband and father
Vernon Alexander, who pass-
ed away 1 year ago, February
28, 1982
The silvery' moon is shining
Over his silent grave
For the one we loved so dearly
Was the one they couldn't
save
To your resting place we visit
And place your flowers with
care
But no one knows the heart-
ache
When we walk away and
leave you there
What we wouldn't give if we
could say
Hello Vern, in the same old
way
To hear you laugh, to see your
smile.
To sit with you and talk awhile
So you who have a husband
Cherish him with care
For you will never know the
heartache
Till you see his empty chair
To some you are forgotten
To others part of the past
But to us Who loved, and lost
you
Your memory will always last
Sadly missed and always
remembered by wife Shirley,
and daughter Amanda.

Train for good parents
BY CONNIEHUC,
B. 8c, N., PJILN.,
HURON
Most parents have little or
no training in how to be a
good parent, in spite of the
fact that this is the moat
important and hardest Job to
do. Parenthood is a 24 hour
profession, one in which
more and more fathers are
taking an active part.
Parents are realizing that
children cannot be treated as
they were in the past, but
many do not know how to
deal with the ever increasing
changes that our chtldren
face. Therefore, it is im-
portant that parents know
the way children grow and
develop, remembering that
each child is , unique and
`different. It is helpful to
know that the stages of
development that are
common to children in order
fuel with th
to deal effect y e
behaviours which occur at
each successive stage. Many
mistakes can be avoided if a
parent is prepared in ad-
vance. Don't be afraid to find
out what is working for other
parents and ask for practical
tips.
Parenting becomes easier
when you are more secure in
the knowledge of what to do,
although you may not always
feel like doing it. Even the
best parents have difficulties
and make mistakes. In the
days of constant change,
growing up is by no meati
easy, and children need all
the -good parenting they can
get.
Parenting classes are held
each Thursday in Winghatn.
