reported to police early the
next day after an employee at
the meat market noticed the
missing meat.

In last week's newspaper
report, owner of the abhatoir.
Frank Thompson said three
live beef were the only
witnesses to the first theft
and that many items were left
behind. Mr. Thompson said
items not taken the first time,
were not missed the second
time around. "Even the three
witnesses are gone".
Some of the beef were
custom orders, said Mr.
Thompson. A meat saw re-
placed following the first
theft. was taken a second
tints "I never even used it
once." He said those respon-
sible for the theft were
particular. taking only hinds
of beef, "after they had
chopped the fronts off. The
fronts were scattered all over
thelace."
Police believe the second
theft is related to the first and
is also related to two similar
breakins within a 50 kilo-
meter radius of Brussels. The
investigation is 'continuing
and there are suspects. "I am
confident the thefts will soon
be solved." explained the
police spokesman.

MABELJORDAN
A resident of Belgrave,
Mabel May Jordan died Feb.
15 at the Pinecrest Manor
Nursing Home, Lucknow fol-
lowing a lengthy illness. She
was 93.
The former Mabel Walsh.
she was born in East Wawa -
nosh Township. She was the
wife of the late George
Jordan. who predeceased her
The Brussels Midgets travelled to
Paisley on Monday night for the third game in
their best of five series in the WOAA playoff
finals.
It was a do or die situation for Paisley as
Brussels led the series two games to -none.
Paisley meant business. scoring the first goal
18 seconds after the puck was dropped.
Gary Armstrong came back for Brussels at
the half way stark of the first period to tie the
score with Rob Ca
rdiffg etting the assist.
After helping injured teammate, Dean
Rutledge from the ice. the Brussels team took
the lead with Kevin McArter scoring the
go-ahead goal with assists from Kevin
Johnston and Tint Fritz.'
The Brussels team never looked back as

cussion on the possible rea-
lignment of the units.
8TH AND 16TH UNIT
The 8th and 16th unit met
at Barbara Fritzs' hone with
seven members present.
Guests for the afternoon were
the members of the McKillop
unit.
Marilyn introduced Irene
Blake. who was born in
Poland. Irene spoke of her
families' life under the Rus-
sians during the 2nd World
War. They were taken from
their home and sent by train
and sleighs, north into Rus•
sia.
Their lives were spent in
camps in Northern Russia.

McArter. David Cossitt then added his own
goal with an assist from Rob

with an assist from Wayne McCutcheon.
Final score Brussels 11, Paisley 1.
Three Brussels players scored hat tricks,
Rob Cardiff, Gary Armstrong and Kevin
McArter. a record for Brussels Minor
Hockey.
The midgets will advance to the OMHA
quarter finals. A game date and place are yet
to be announced.
