Sea - forth opened the scoring at 12:39 of the first period with a goal scored by Joey Smith, assisted by Don Brown and Mike Schoonderwoerd. How- ever Wingham rebounded with three unanswered goals before the first period ended. Each team scored a goal in the second period with Dar- ren Akey, assisted by Joey Smith getting Seaforth's. Seaforth increased the pres- sure in the third period, even pulling the goalie and using the sixth attacker, but this backfired as Wingham scored once more into the empty net in the final minute of play, ending the game 5-2 for Wingham. Over the weekend Seaforth Pee Wees continued their playoffs, playing some of their best games of the season. Saturday they hosted Wingham in a very fast skating game. The first per- iod was scoreless with both teams carrying the play back and forth. Finally in the second period Wingham opened2the scoring, however Seaforth's Terry Gray receiv- ing a nice pass from Gordie O'Dwyer in front of the net beat the Wingham goalie and tied the score. Both the Wingham goalie and the lead. Jteaforth maintained their lead and ended the game 2-1 for them. Sunday Seaforth again tra- velled to Wingham for the final game. This was a very exciting gamd'with the teams checking very closely. Wing - ham again opened the scoring in thefirst period. However Seaforth continued their pressure on the other team and finally Joey Smith, pick- ing up a pass from Darren Akey, shot a sizzler past the Wingham goalie, tying' the game in the second period. The pressure in the third period increased as both teams tried very hard to catch the other off guard. Then at the 9:11 mark Joey Smith again found the net assisted by Steve Schroeder and Brad Beuttenmiller to put Seaforth in the lead. After this Sea - forth Pee Wees tightened their defences as Wingham increased the pressure, even using a sixth attacker in the final minute of the game, but with Tony Van Loon's sharp gaoltending, and the team's teamwork they were able to hold on to their lead and end the game 2-1 in Seaforth's favour, Seaforth now goes on to meet Durham.
