with the Royal Canadian Air
Force as a pilot on coastal
patrol in the Second World
War.
He was a member of the
Royal Canadian Legion,
Branch 396 in Chippawa. He
was a past president and life
member of the Stamford
Centre Volunteer Firemen
and an active member of
Chippawa Presbyterian
Church.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Ethel F. Ellah;
three sons, David, of Burling-
ton, Charles, of Fayetteville,
N.C. and Harold of Thames -
ford. and two daughters,
Diane, of London, and Jo-
anne, Mrs. Kennetii Orr of
Aurora.
Funeral was held from the
chapel of -Hetherington and
Deans Friday Jan. 28. Burial
will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Prior to moving to Bel -
grave, Mr, Armstrong farm-
ed in West Wawanosh town-
ship. He is survived by his
wife. Elleb Thompson, whom
he married in 1920. Also
surviving are one son Tom,
RR2, Lucknow; two daugh-
ters, Donna, Mrs. Mel Craig,
Bluevale and Mary, Mrs.
Jack Taylor, Belgraven He
was predeceased by two
brothers, Earl of Winnipeg
and Tom of London.
Funeral service was held
from The Currie -Walker Fun-
eral Home, Wingham, Jan.
31. Rev. John G. Roberts
officiated. Spring interment
Greenhill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bob Tay-
lor, Mark Taylor, Terry Arm-
strong, Jeff Armstrong,

Born in Wallace Township,
he is survived by his wife, the
former Loretta (Rita) Har-
grave and by children, C

Carcross, Yukon Territories;
and Gordon of Gorrie. Seven -
grandchildren, four sisters
and a brother also survive.
He was predeceased by two
brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services for the
late Mr. Ash were held
Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the
Gorrie Chapel of the M.L.
- Watts Funeral Home. Rev.
Jennings officiated. Burial
will follow in Listowel Ceme-
tery.
