Addiction assessment in Perth?
An addiction assessment
centre may be established in
Perth County.
The Canadian Mental
Health Association -Perth
County branch has been
chosen to establish and de-
velop such a centre in
the county. Theassociation
has applied for project fund-
ing from the Ministry of
Health, alcohol and drug
abuse programs, with the
establishment of the assess-
ment centre based on funds
being received.
The service is designed to
provide consistent and com-
prehensive assessment of
substance abusers, to de-
velop with the client a treat-
ment plan and to make
refer. als to appropriate agen-
cies and services for treat-
ment interventions.
The Perth Addiction plan
Ding committee, chaired by
Medical Officer of Health Dr.
Susan Tamblyn and with
representatives from various
agencies in the county, has
met with the Addiction Re-
search Foundation over a
ten-month period to identify
problems of addiction ser-
vices in Perth County.

the Marian Ritchie Auxiliary
at the home of Mrs. Duncan
Scott on January 18 with 12

display so all could become

In 1953 I had the good
fortune .of seeing Scotland
when my friends Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Jeffrey heard 1
