EGMONDVILLE COUPLE MARK 60 YEARS
MARRIED LIFE -Mr. and Mrs. Hartman
Hiusser celebrated their 60th wedding anniver-
sary on Saturday January 8. A family dinner
was held at the Seaforth Legion Hall. Mr. and
Mrs. Hiusser were married on January 11, 1923
at the Egmondville Church Manse by the late
Rev. D. McDonald. Mrs. Hiusser is the former
Leona Pearson, a daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. Pearson of Seaforth, while Mr.
Hiusser is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Hiusser of Seaforth. Mr. and Mrs. Hiusser have
a family of two sons and five daughters, all of
whom were home to share in their parents'
celebration. The Hiussers now have 21
grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

March starts this week

campaign for the Ontario
March of Dimes,
The Campaign Chairman
for the Seaforth district is
Thelma . Coombs. She is
assisted by Seaforth captains
Melinda Beuerman,Barb
Caldwell, Lois Hodgert and
Lois King.
In Harpurhey Carol Baker
is captain, while Egmgndville
captains are Ruyh Pepper and
Carol MacLean.
Treasurer is Margaret
Sharp and Loreen Dale .. is
publicity chairman.
A team of more than 75
volunteers will be calling on
homes in this area. Residents
are asked to make them
welcome, turn on porchlights
and as eenerously as

The Ontario March of
Dimes faces tin enormous job.
Hundreds of people become
disabled through accidents or
diseases each year, For some,
disability strikes In the prime
of life when they are building
careers or raising families.
Then there are people who
were born with disabilities
who need help as they reach
adulthood. There are also
many who face disability for
the first time when they reach
old age.
When disability strikes,
the Ontario March of Dimes is
there to help a person dis-
cover their new potential and
their abilities. The organiza-

In spite of snowy weather,
the Flospital Auxiliary meet-
ing Jan. 11 was.most enjoy-
able. Members were enter-
tained by the Highland Ring,
performed by Miss Tracey
Bennett.
During the past year the
group purchased two lamps,
two recliner chairs and 24
hymn books for use by
visiting ministers in the new
service of worship now at
Seaforth Community Hospi-
tal. Shirley Ring donated a
picture, and a radio was also
donated. With Yvonne Kit-
chen's permission these can
be viewed in the labour room.
A comprehensive report of
the annual O.H.A. conven-
tion in Toronto was presented
by President Mrs. Shirley
Dinsmore and Mrs. Carol
Hoelscher. Plan§ for the 50th
anniversary celebration of the
hospital are in progress and a
tea will be held sometime in
May to raise funds for this.
Members who have not yet
given their cup and saucer are
to bring them to the February
8 meeting. Knitters are still
needed.

Fireside group
meets

The Fireside Fellowship
Group of First Presbyterian
Church met with a small
attendance.
The new president, Mable
McMichael. opened the
meeting.
In the absence of the
secretary, Henrietta Brown,
Jean Keyes read the minutes.
• The treasurer's report was
read by Ted Cosford.
• Edith McMillan read a
poem and scripture. Bob
McMillan led in prayer.
Rev. Duke showed a film
"Hear the Good News",
based orr the work of the
Presbyterian Church in Can-
ada.
Dorothy Scott conducted a
game of quick wit until lunch
was served.

Several special dishes from
this course were made and
sampled by the ladiespre-
sent. Thank you's from
HuronDay Centre and War
Memrial Hospital were
read. Also several thank you
letters from Christmas.
A birthday party is planned
for Huronview and a social
evening at the Manor is being
planned for near Valentine's
Day. A silent auction is
planned for the May meeting.
A reading "Not learned
from books" was given by
Mrs. Sam Scott.
A contest by Mrs. Jessie
MacGregor was enjoyed by
all.
Mrs. Ross Gordon moved a
vote of thanks to the hostess
for a very successful evening.
