A spokesman for the group said 10 extra tables had to be set up to accommodate those attending. Senior citizens were invited to the event which included a variety show, in the Seaforth Legion last Tuesday evening. Alfred Ross • MAYOR immismsemesismassami ANNA MIDDEGAAL A former resident of Hul- lett Township, Anna Josep- hina Middegaal, died in Ritz ,Lutheran Villa in Mitchell on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 1983. She was 81. Born Anna Joseph- ina Smits in Holland on March 3, 1901, she was the wife of the late Lambertus • Middegaal, who died in 1964. The Middegaals came to Canada in 1948. Mrs. Middegaal-is surviv- ed by three sons, Tony of Hullett; Hank of London and John of Seaforth; and by three daughters, Chris Lane of London; Helen, Mrs. Harry Van Moorsel, of Mit- chell and Joann Mrs. Cat-__ vin Garrow, ' of London. - Twenty grandchildren also survive. The late Mrs. Middegaal rested at the Tasker Funeral Home in Blyth until Friday when the Mass of the Christ- ian Burial was conducted at St. Michael's Roman Catho- lic Church, Slyth. Spring interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Morris Township. Pallbearers' were grand- sons, Brent Van Moorsel, Mitchell; Dwayne and Brad Garrow, London; Bert and Jim Middegaal, Blyth and Kevin Middegaal, Lambeth. AMY SPEIR A life member of the Women's Missionary Society and Majestic Womens Insti- '.tuto and foftriAlit member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Brussels and the Horticul- tural Society, Florence J.aur- etta Jane (Amy) Speir died in the Wingham and District Hospital on Thursday, Jan- uary 13 in her 86th year. Born in McKillop township she taught al several schools in the Brussels area. Married on November 4, 1919, the. late Mrs. Speir was prede- ceased by her husband John' . Gilbert Speir in 1954. Predeceased by her par- ents Fletcher Roe and Laura Whitfield, one son John (World War II, 1942) and one brother. Surviving is one son Kenneth of Simcoe, three daughters .Margaret, Mrs. Norman Johns, London; Laura, Mrs. Gil Standish, Simcoe; Helen. Mrs. Frank Grover. Caledon East. nine CHECK UP & MAINTENANCE Vgadlly 21 tables at euchre Senior Citizens night was held in the Seaforth Legion Hall Jan. 1I sponsor- ed by Seaforth Junior Farm- ers. A full evening of enter- tainment was planned with a musical program first put on by a number of the Junior Farmers. Concluding the hour's pro - pram 21 tables of euchre were in play followed by lunch. A number of residents of Sea - forth Manor attended and reported a most enjoyable evening. Leonard Bloomfield expressed courtesy remarks to the Junior Farms for their hospitality, tran porta- tion and tasty htnch. David McKnight of Eg- mondville United Church conducted service at Seaforth Manor on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. McKnight was unable tb accompany for the hymns due to illness. Cliff Thornton, administra- tor was in charge of a program on communication and staff meeting on Friday afternoon in the activity room at Seaforth Manor. 4 good representation of staff were present. Mary Finlayson, activity co-ordinator was pleasantly surprised at noon on Friday when Sid Pearson, president of the Resident's Council presented her with a birthday card signed by all residents and also a gift on behalf of the residents. Maty- thanked everyone for their remem- brance. Welcome to Cornelius Rumig who has been admit- ted to Seaforth Manor. Visit- ing with Mr. Rumig on the weekend were his wife, daughter and family of Wa- terloo. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bol- ton visited with Finlay Ross. Gladys Ruston and Ruth Noll spent the weekend at their respective homes.
