Seaforth added two more in the third to end the game 6-1. Scoring for Seaforth were Paul McLlwain with three and Ray Murray, Jason Schoon- derwoerd and Brent vanden Akker with singles. Saturday afternoon Ray Murray scored five goals to lead Seaforth to a 10-1 upset over the Clinton Atoms in Seaforth. Other goal Scorers were Paul McLlwain with two, and Brian Cook, Jason Papple and Jason Schoonder- woerd with one each. Clinton scored their lone goal in. the third period to rob Mike Van Loon of a shut -out. This Saturday Seaforth plays in the Optimist Atom tournament. The first game is against Lucan at 8 a.m. MIDGETS On Jan. 12 Seaforth played in Brussels. The game was a see -saw bustle as the goals went from the Seaforth were David McLlwain, from Greg Murray in the first period. 1n the second period. Jerry Wright scored assisted by Dan Sloan and Todd Morey. Greg followed with a goal from Barry Catnpbell�ln the third period McLlwain scored from Kevin Melady. Their effort wasn't enough as Brussels had tallied one extra goal. Final score was 5 to 4 for Brussels. NOVICE On Saturday Jan. 15 Milverton came to meet Sea - forth at 3:15. It seemed to be a close first period with each team waiting for their break. Finally at the two minute mark in the first Milverton scored. Seaforth steamed up and ready to go for it saw Jason Beuttenmiller score off the face-off at`tthe 9:50 mark. As the puck bounced and flipped in front of the open net, the score remained unchanged. One minute later Jason Beut- tenmiller scored again unas- sisted. Milverton couldn't be outdone, so they came back to score at the 4:49 mark. But Mil ing their momentum to show their skill as well. The sixth goal for Milverton was' scored off the face off and another at the 1:28 mark. Steve Papple scored unassisted and the final score was 7-4 for Milver- ton. Honourable mention goes to Kevin Van den Neuker for his break away, Thomas Wheatley for his checking and consistent defence action and Michael Watt for his inner drive and get up and go. BANTAMS Jan. 11 Seaforth played at home against Wingham. The first two periods Seaforth played well,' but in the third - period Wingham came on stronger winning this game 7-5. Pat Murray led the scoring for Seaforth with two goals. Scoring one a piece were Mark Stapleton, Chris Card - no and Mike Betties. Men's high single and triple, PEE WEES The Seaforth Pee Wee A's got off to a slow start on Tuesday .in Wingham when they found themselvesrail- trail- ing 4-0 in the second period. However at the 10:47 mark of the second period Mike Schoonderwoerd netted a goal for Seaforth which put new life into the team. Seaforth's next two goals were scores by Rick MacLean and Blair Beuermann to make the game 4-3 for Wingham. Seaforth continued to put the pressure on but were unable to tie the score. With_ one minute remaining in the game Wingha scored a flakey goal and he game ended 5-3 in favour f Wing - ham. On Saturday the locals hosted Clinton in a very close checking flame which ended in a 2-1 win for the Seaforth Pee Wee A's. Seaforth goals were scored' by Terry Gray and Joey Smith, with assists going to Gordie O'Dwyer, Brad Beuttenmiller and Dwayne Price. Sunday the Pee .Wee A's hosted Mitchell outplaying them all the way even though many penalties were assess- ed. With some nice passing plays in the first two periods, the locals took the lead 7M before Mitchell got on the scoreboard.
