All the members and their families were able. to attend. Christmas visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Noakes were members of their fami- lies from Guelph, London. Toronto, Dashwood, Crediton and St. Columban. Holiday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Ross $orbett and Jeff were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Brown, Newtonville, Mrs. Ruth Taylor, Clinton and members of Mrs. Corbett's family, who were present for the family dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Eli - T wood, former Hensall resi- dents now of Ottawa visited last week with friends and renewed old acquaintances. Dan Altan of London re- • cently visited with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Noakes. Dan stopped in Hensall for several„ hours in the summer while on his way across Canada in his wheelchair to raise money t'or handicapped athletes. Mr. and Mrs. William MacKinnon, Shawn and Laura of London spent Christ- mas with the former's mother Mrs. Janet MacKinnon. Mrs. William O'Brien, Todd and Stacey of Brigden, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Flynn, Lori and Susan were New Years dinner guests with Mrs. Evelyn Flynn. les Mickle return- ed to Hamilton after holiday- ing with his mother Mrs. Laird Mickle. Captain Ronald A. Mac Kinnon of Amherstview spent New Year's with' his mother Mrs. Janet MacKin- non. Mrs. Alice Ferg spent the holiday with her sister and brother-in-law Mr, and Mrs. George Coulter at Listowel. CARMEL CHURCH Rev. Kenneth Knight con- ducted worship service in Carmel Presbyterian Chltrch on Sunday, speaking on "The New Year and Worry'. Mrs. Dorothy Taylor led in the service of music. The W.M.S. and Ladies' Group will meet on Monday, January IO at 2:00 p.m. in the church. The annual meeting will be held on January 26 at 8:00 p.m. Sgt. Doug Wein R.C.M.P„ Mrs. Wein and David return- ed to their home in Ottawa after holidaying with thei parents Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parker and Mrs, Lawrence Wein, Exeter. The "Three Links" Seniors will meet on January 11 at 2 p.M. in the local hall. Please note the time 'change to afternoon, Mrs, Edith Bell and Miss papline Bell returned home after holidaying •at:Orlando, Florida, and several other places, Disney World. Also visiting with Mrs. Lammie were Jean and Pete Kruysfe. Winnifred Kipper visited, Mrs. Mary Ann Oesch and Miss Elizabeth Eisenbaeh. Mr. Wilfred Mousseau is a patient in South Huron Hos- pital, Exeter where he is receiving treatment, , 'Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Rae - burn, Jamie and, Benjamin, returned to their homes in Coronation, Alberta, after holidaying with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rae - burn and family and Mr, and Mrs. Arthur Slade and Glen. Stewards of Time was the sermon topic for the first Kippen book Correspondent RENA CALDWELL 262-5935 "History of Kippen and its Families" written by Ruth Workman is now on sale. This book involved a tremendous • amount of research and la- bour and is a credit to its author. Residents of the Kippen area celebrating Christmas: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gem. mell and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Gemmell and family were -in London at the home of Miss Barbara Gemmell. The Hern family celebrated on Sunday Dec. 26 with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kinsman and family. Mr. and Mrs. Al Hoggarth and family cele- brated at home and were joined by Mt, p.4-•• ra,, Sunday of 1983 at the United Church on Sunday morning. Rev. McDonald spoke of the year ahead and quoted Paul Tounier in saying "Time belongs to God. and we are stewards of time, we are ,responsible to Him for every minute that he gives us." His sermon was based on the scripture from Psalm 90 "So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. " The music was under the direction of the Senior choir with Joyce Pepper at the piano. a credit to a garth of Zurich. .`.: man families had Christmas on Mon. Dec. 27 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kinsman. Mr. and Mrs. Alex D. McGregor and all their family celebrated at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Mc- Gregor. Mr. and Mrs. John Kinsman entertained their families on Christmas Eve. Mr. an d 21rs. James Mc- Gregor entertained their rela- tives and friends, on Sunday Dec. 19 honouring •their daughter Mary Jane, who returned to Lac la. Biche in Alberta on Thurs. after spending a week, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Caldwell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Caldwell, Sea - forth, Jack and Rena Caldwell were dinner guests with Mrs. ea Ushers for the day were David Rowcliffe, John McAl- lister, Steven Corbett and Randy Parker. Dorothy Park- er was greeter. The flowers at the front of the church were placed in loving memory of David Vanstone (Jlttluary 3, 1981) and Mrs. Eva Thomp- son (December 27. 1982).
