CHURCH IS GONE—The hamlet of Staffa lost
one of its historical landmarks recently with the
demolition of the old Anglican Church. The
church, which was Audit in 1887 served as a
'house or worship until 1936. It was purchased
in 1938 by Walter O'Brien end used as a
chopping mill. In 1950 Russel Parsons
purchased the building and made it into a
garage for his transport trucks. Gordon and
Elaine Colquhoun undertook the demolition of
the building and will be selling much of the
salvaged wood. If any of our readers can offer
further information about the history of the
church or any experiences they can recall with
services held there please call Kris Svela at the
Expositor with the information. (Photo by Svela)
A new year to

A brand new year is before
us, just waiting for us to
unfold all our new ideas and
great plans for the future.
Every household looks for-
ward to something new and
exciting in the coming
months. For some it may be a
new baby in the house, for
others it is a wedding. Some
plan renovations or additions
to their dwellings. yet others
plan ahead for holidays south
or special family gatherings
or celebrations. It need not
matter how depressing world
affairs get, there is always
something good to look for-
ward to.
With the holiday season
over for another year, the
children are all back to school
and mothers and dads can get
back to their old,routine. The
children don't always agree
that it's time to call a halt to
the holidays, but all good
things must'come to an end
sooner or later and from
mom's and dad's point of
- not
view, it should be sooner
later.
The traditional Christmas
decorations that took a day or
two to put up are disposed of
in a couple of hours and life
goes on. The New Year was
brought in with hats and
horns and a multitide of good
wishes and kisses, --oh to be
