SANTA AND THE ALIEN Santa was flying through a town when t►esaw a big ship flyby, Santa followed it down on oto a roof and -landed there. The thing that was -driving came out and said, "Hello earthling" to Santa. Santa said, "Who are you?" The thing said, "My name is Aliano". So Santa and Aliano went to the first house. Santa and his friend went into the house and put the presents under the tree. They went back outside and hopped into the sleigh. Santa said, "Take off my friends," to his reindeer. They took off and the alien said, "Where are we going?" Santa said, "To the next town of course." Santa said, "Hold on tight we're going faster." Just then the reindeer slammed on the brakes and the alien went flying out the front of the sleigh and land- ed right on the edge of the roof. Santa said, "That was close" and scolded the reindeer for stopping without telling Santa. The alien was just getting up, then one of the reindeer kicked him and he went falling down, down, down and landed on a car. He got up and said, "Thanks for the experience," and whistled in his spaceship, got in and flew back out to space, Santa finished his job and went home to tell Mrs. Claus about his adventure, but he was so tired that he decided to go to bed and tell her in the morning. Kelly Ryan Grade 3 St. Colurnban THE HURON EXPOSITOR, NOVEMBER 15 1989 1$B CHAD VERBERNE, ST PATRICK'S GR 4 CHRISTMAS IN THE FUTURE Christmas in the future I think will be quite the same. I think that the reindeer of Santa Clause's will have pretty sore legs and hooves near Christmas Eve and after. In the future I think that the reindeer should have a break of getting their legs and hooves cold and tired they will need some Christmas Rocket shoes. What the Christmas Rocket Shoes will do is warm their feet and be a rocket at the same time. I also think if a chimney has a kind of roof over it I think that in the future the chimneys with a roof over it should be computerized so that when Santa Clause's reindeer land on the roof and Santa Claus CHRISTMAS 2031 Even though she was supposed to be sleeping, I knew she was downstairs, look- ing for the presents that Sancos had hid- den. I quietly got out of bed, careful not to disturb my husband, Zach, and slipped on my purple day -robe and matching house - boots. The door automaticly opened for me with it's it's low hissing, which evidently woke my sleeping husband. "Is Tavia on level one?" he whispered from the bed. I nodded and put my finger to my lips as Zach followed me to the hydrovent plat- form, which lowered us to level one silent- ly . We tiptoed across the hall and staved against the wall for fear that the ultra- sound "eye" would see us and open the door, giving us away to Tavia. We pushed the door open a bit and peered in. Sure enough, there she was, dumping out her Christmas cone, a decendant of my grandmother's stocking, (imagine putting gifts in a sock' A cone is much more sanitary). She was delighted in all the goodies - peppermint toffee, green hooks, coniferbites and a jar of retspon. 1 giggled in remembrance of my own Christmas antics and Zach gave me a "shut -up -and -watch" look which I obeyed. My daughter must of heard me, because she looked around like a kitten .who was caught in a budgie cage. "Sancos? You're not Sancos! You're Momma and Dad! Where's Sancos?" Tavis whispered "There's no presents!" "Sure there is," I said, really getting in- to the Christmas spirit, "Look behind you, what about the tree?" Our fiberglass tree held little resemblence to its natural counterpart (you could still get real trees in the coun- try, but we think it's boring having your Christmas tree an unhealthy green colour every winter). Our purple giant was a new model which could be opened and closed revealing many presents. I did so now, and watched Tavia's face face light up with delight as she saw the many presents. As I watched my child open the boxes, I felt a tear in my eye, would her children be as lucky as her? I hugged Zach close and handed my daughter her presents. Mike Janmaat St. James School YEAR 2009 FUTURE CHRISTMAS Once upon a time far far into the future, little Joey was in his Bear stun bed. He was trying to fall asleep but he was having a hard tune because he knew what was waiting for him under the tree. Then he finely fell asleep. He woke up and when he did he knew it was Christmas morning. He run to the elevator and went down to the main floor. He looked under the tree and he was very very surprised. He got just what you wanted! And you know what that is! (San- ta must have got confused). Jamie McNichol Grade 8 Seaforth Public School jumps out the chimney pops open so San- ta can jump down it as soon as he jumps off his Skateboard Scooter. Santa's skateboard Scooter has 'wheels in case there is no snow and Santa can pull in the wheels and put out the ski's for snow. 1 think Santa will like that idea for a Christmas present don't you? Santa can still keep all of his reindeer, his sled and he can still lift the rooves off the chimneys but he can also use his new things to. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas now and in the future. And a happy new year. B) Valerie Collins, Grade 5 Seaforth Public School A CHRISTMAS TALE It was christnuas eve, in the year 3002. The didn't have stockings but they had a red shoe. They couldn't go to sleep it was too hard, and by the fire place they had a robot, guard. They left cookies and even milk too' They could hardly wait for the coming of you' Santa Claus By Trevor Jessome S.P.S. Gr. 5 CHRISTMAS 2000 It's Christmas. No more. trees were to be found. "But mom," I said, "Where will Santa put the toys?" "I guess you can't have a Christmas," Maybe if you ask San- ta for a tree. I'm sure the elves can make a tree. "But if everyone asked for a tree they be gone." But if you get one it's for next year. Why? Because if he gives you a tree it's a enought for a year.
