CLASS PROJECT - A mural depicting the hazards of tarm
safety has given the Grade 4 and 5 students of St 'Patrick's
School in Dublin. the Perth County Farm Safety Aware The
class created the mural earlier this fall tor a contest in which
several Perth County schools participated The class was
presented with a plaque and a cheque tor $100, and wit have
its mural displayed at farm shows across Ontario for the next

Lillian Douglas opened the November
meeting of the Marian Ritchie Women's
Missionary Society with a reading on
remembrance, One Day at a time. Joy
Scott read Proverbs 3:21-35, followed by a
meditation, Remembering World War II.
and .prayer, Thirteen members answered
the roll call with a verse or reading on
remembrance. The offering and coins for
the Fellowship of the Least Coin were
received.
Mary Elliott gave the study book chapter
outlining the position of the church as a
whole, and that of the Dutch Reformed
Church of South Africa in regard to Apar-
theid. It was noted that reports on the
South African situation call action by the
blacks violence, but by the government

Friends ofeJim, Mcfwall. gathered at the
Blyth' Legion Hall Thursday night,
November 16 for a surprise party arrang-
• ed by his wife on the occasion of his 75th
Birthday. The dinner of roast beef with all
the trimmings was catered to by the ladies
auxiliary of the Blyth Legion.
Attending the party were Harve and
Fern 'McDowell, Arnold and Irma Cook,
Jim and Elsie Walsh, Ab and Gene Snell.
Lloyd and Mary Walden, Jim and Phyllis
Boale and of course Jim and Effie. Due to
the weather conditions one couple Phil and
Marjorie Johns were unable. to attend
After the dinner the surprised Jim thank-
ed all for the evening and the lovely cards
and also thanks to the ladies for the din-
ner, with special thanks to Effie.
It was planned to go out to the McCalls
.for the rest of the evening, but because of
the winter 'storm all were invited to the
new and lovely home of Arnold and Irma
Cook for the evening of games and music.
:Birthday cake and ice-cream was serv-
ed to end a lovely party.
