the theft of two brass lantern type .lights
from the St. Joseph Shores tach -area in
Stanley Township. This theft'ocourred on
May 15, 1989 ',between the hours -of 7 am
and 5pm.`11tese a eelargerllgltts 614" Wide
by '1E" high) .and were removed frorn poles
6 1/2' -tall.
The Goderich Town police and Crime
Stoppers of Huron County, are asking for
your help to recover one set of downhill
skis, make Rossingnol-Caravelle ARS,
180cm long Serial number 03261. These skis
had Tyrolia 177 bindings on them and were
stolen on February 20, 1988 from a garage
on Catherine Street in Goderich.
On January 13, 1988, as the result of a
break and enter at the Bruce St. apart-
ments in Goderich, the following items
were stolen: 1 - J.V.C. stereo receiver
(AM/FIC Model RKe500 serial number
10001742; 1 - J.V.C. cassette player, Model
RDVR320, Serial number 1160826; 1 -
Pyraortid stereo •egna1irer, 4VIode1 'SEA9700;
1 - Toshiba turntable; 1 - Pioneer
•amplifier, Model 8R410, Serial number
9400323 and 1 - Tiger eye man's ring.

OBITUARIES
JAMES LEONARD CARTER
James Leonard Carter died Saturday.
November 25, 1989 at the Wingham and
District Hospital. He was 47.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, the
former Elsie Regele of Walton. and
daughters, Glenda and Susan Carter, both
of Walton.
He was a brother of Mildred andStewart
Ament of Blyth, Gordon and Lois Carter of
Tavistock, Robert and Nancy Carter of
Clinton and the late Ken McGowan.
Mr. Carter was predeceased by his
parents. William and Viola Carter; and his
stepmother, Ella Carter of Blyth.
Mr. Carter rested at Betts Funeral
Home, Brussels Chapel, and a funeral ser-
vice was held on Tuesday from Duff's
United Church in Walton Interment

CLIFFORD 'CHARLES HUNT
Clifford Charles Hunt of London. died
Monday, November 27, 1989 at St. Joseph's
Hospital in London. He was 91.
Born at Seaforth. Mr. Hunt was a stu-
dent of the Seaforth public and high
schools. Always a top student, he was
especially proficient in typing and winning
gold watches etc. in his era.
Mr. Hunt entered the business world at
age 17 and was recognized as a top
salesman in the firm of Remington and
Underwood Typerwriter Company and was
later manager of their office on Richmond
Street in London. In later years C.C. was
a co-founder and partner in Stevenson and
Hunt Insurance formerly on Dundas Street
in London. He was also one of the original
Directors of , Sunningdale Golf, north of
London.
Inning -the war 'of 1914-1918,. Mr. Hunt
was asked to remain at Ottawa and serv-
ed his country as a secretary. in the office
of the Canadian Forces.
Mr. Hunt had been a member of the
Kiwanis Club of London, Director of the
Western Fair Association, member of the
BuiI
Sunningdale Golf and Country Club, and
member of Temple Lodge 597 and the
Scottish Rite.
He was a brother-in-law to Isabelle Hunt
of Seaforth and Ruth Miller and John
Miller, both of London, and is also surviv-
ed by nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hunt was predeceased by his wife,
the former Evelyn Miller; sisters. Edith
Vincent of Seaforth and Vera McMillan of
Seaforth; and brothers, Frank Hunt of
Seaforth and Homer Hunt of Port Dover.
Friends may cal] on Wednesday from 2
to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Jan
Funeral Home, Richmond Street at James,
where the funeral service will be con-
ducted on Thursday, November 30 at 11
a.m. by the Reverend Michael C.H. Locke
of Robinson Memorial United Church. In-
terment Mount Pleasant Cemetery,
London.
GLADYS M. WRIGHT
Mrs. Gladys M. Wright of John Street in
Seaforth, died Friday, November 24, 1989
at the Seaforth Community Hospital. She
was 80..
A daughter of the late Isaac and Ethel
(Brown) Duckling of Listowel, Mrs. Wright
was a • Life Member of the Northside
United Church Women, She was also a
member of the Seaforth Hospital Anriliary
for many years.
She is survived by two sons, Donald and
his wife Marilyn of Clinton, and Douglas
and•his wife Wendy of Kanata.
Mso surviving are six grandchildren,
David, Paul, Rhonda and Scott of Clinton,
and Wade and Jarrett of Kanata: and one
sister, •Mrs. Louisa Davidson of Listowel.
Mrs. Wright was predeceased by her
husband, Art Wright, in August 1987; two
sisters, Mrs. Audrey Seymour of Oshawa
and. Mrs. Helen Clinger of London; two
brothers, Eric and Gisbson of Listowel;
and one, infant son Harald Wayne.
Mrs. Wright rested at. the Whitney -gibe}
Funeral Home in Seaforth and a funeral
and committal service were held on Mon-
day, with the Reverend'.Ron Jones of Nor-
thside United Church offidiaiing,:Interment.
Fairview 'Cemetery in Listowel.
As expressions of sympathy donations
may be made to the United Church
Building Fund, or ,the Seaforth Hospital
Auxiliary.
In our hearts let us remember the love
she gave to us all.
