brance Day. The parade will form at the
Legion and move off for a service at the
Cenotaph at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served

special Halloween Bingo Monday afternoon.
A big thank you to those ladies for being
such good sports and also for providing
Halloween treats as prizes. The Hensel'
Brownies visited in the evening and had a
costume parade through the halls.

Queensway Ladies Auxiliary met Wednes-
day morning and discussed final plans for
the annual Craft and Bake Sale. November
15, 1989. Everyone is looking forward to a
good turnout.
The wildlife and nature film "High Wild
and Free" was viewed Thursday evening.
Residents were pleased to welcome the
Hensall Legion members Sunday when the

Hibbert 4-H Club was held October 26 at

members discussed the different parts of a
microwave oven and how they work. The)
talked about the basic principles of food
preparation to the microwave, and later
used the microwave to prepare Parmesan
chicrten, spudweisers and s'mores. While
the tool was cooking members watched a
movie, called "Good Foods Fast, What's In
It For You," which was really enjoyed

Esther Barry of Seaforth, died Saturday•
October 7, 1989 at Stratford General
Hospital. She was 88.
The former Esther Purcell, she was a
daughter of the late James Purcell and the
former Sarah McLaughlin.
She is survived by two sons, Joe of RR
2 Dublin and Louis of Woodbridge; two
daughters, Mrs. Bernadette Jordan of Mit-
chell and Mrs. Robert (Loretta) Wein of
Dashwood. 10 grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sisters,
Mary Purcell and Margaret Coyne.
Friends were received at the Whitney-
Ribey Funeral Home in Seaforth and a
Mass of the Christian Burial was held at
St. Columbary Roman Catholic Church. In-
terment was in St. Columban Cemetery
PETER MCLAUGHLIN
Peter Joseph McLaughlin of RR 4
Walton, died Wednesday, November 1, 1989
at the Seaforth Conimunity Hospital. He
was 88..
Born in McKillop Township on May 3.
1901. he was a son of the late Patrick
McLaughlin and the former Catherine
Connolly.
He is survived by his wife, the former
Anna Maine). whom he married on
November 5, 1929
Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Junior
( Marys Storey of Seaforth; a grand-
daughter, Cheryl Ann Storey; and a sister,
Margaret McLaughlin of Huronview,
Clinton
Mr. McLaughlin was predeceased by
brothers Michael and Joseph.
Friends were received at the Whitney-
Ribey Funeral Home in Seaforth and a
Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday
at St. Janes Roman Catholic Church.

Pallbearers were Dominic Murray,
Frank Murray, Al Koehler, Earl Rock,
Jack Horan and Dan.McClory.

JOHN G. MCCLENNAN
John t,. McClennan of RR 2 Palmerston
died Saturday, October 28, 1989 at the
Listowel Memorial Hospital. He was 79.
Mr. McClennan farmed all his life on the
townline, west of Palmerston, and when it
came to growing roses, he grew some of
the largest. A lover of horses and a keen
race horse fan, he often made the trip
south to the bluegrass state of Kentucky to
witness some of the best purebred pacers
in North America.
He is survived by children, Bill and his
wife Jean of Arthur, Jack and ,Iris wife
Phyllis of Listowel, Mrs. Doreen Berfelz of
Palmerston, Wayne and his wife Elaine of
Palmerston and Audry McClennan and
Brian.Triebner of Kippen
