Special thanks to Andrea Gingerich and Tracey Fortune for helping out with the victory Finishing off the weekend, Seaforth played Mitchell in what proved to be their best game yet. Sunday evening Seaforth suffered its first defeat of the season, but it was a worthwhile effort. The girls knew they were in for a tough game after Mit- chell scored the first goal at the 11:31 mark. This was quickly answered by a goal from Tammy Nash, assisted by winger Jill Betties. The first period see- sawed back and forth as Mitchell scored, their second goal and Seaforth's Lisa Henderson retaliated with the help of Sara Teall to tie the game at two. The second period was action packed and full of suspense. Lisa Henderson with a spurt of energy scored her second to lead Seaforth, but that was quickly follow - one over week ed by a goal from Mitchell The game remained tied at three as both goalies played superbly , stopping several shots The tie was finally broken as Seaforth's centerman Tammy Nash scored unassisted with 1:37 remaining in the game. Both teams worked hard but Mitchell was not quite ready to give up as they scored to tie it up with 53 seconds left. The game was not over yet as Mitchell scored again at the 45 second mark. With the last burst of energy Seaforth hit the goal post twice but time ran out with the final score c ^ c' r Mitchell. All the girls played excellently and deserve a pat on the back! Next game is Sunday. November 12 at 7 p.rri. in Seaforth vs St. Marys Beatle jui.k.e 'thrashes Guttercots in bowling Ur November 2 the Beatlejtuce team who had struggled to only six points all season, thrashed the former first place Guttercats for all seven points available. The victory proved to be a team effort including games of 21e and 199 by Sherry Turney and Brian Dale 233, and a 246 con- tributed ny Neil Beuerman. Helen Belanger was 56 pins over average to help carry the teen. The Guttercats on the other hand had four of six bowlers below average and as a team were 163 pins below average on the night. Top games were bowled by Doug Leonhardt with 280 and 228, Dave Moody with a 222 and Carol Bennewies with a 201. The Wildcats took advantage of the Gut - tercets loss by taking five of seven points from the Ballbangers and moving into a three point first place lead. The Wildcat: were led to by Don Deighton who record- ed an outstanding 802 night including a 298 single. Gary Bedard had games of 264 and 204. Ralph Johnson recorded a 253 single and 668 triple, John Aubin had 600 overall and Sharon Marshall added a 208 game. The Ballbangers were led by Doug Pro- cter with a 243 single and 654 triple. Barb Alexander hacl a 203 game and Donna Beuerman deserves mention with a 186 fipal game. The Bears fought back to take third N.voce y6 rin etfe wen twice The Seaforth Novice 2 Ringette team travelled to Bewail on Saturday to play Exeter Seaforth came out flying and at the 46 second mark Melissa Robertson opened the scormg. Seaforth scored four More goats before the end of the first period. Michelle Tyndall scored, two with Melissa Robertson and Cathy Coyne each tallying one. Assists went to Cathy, Michelle and Kendall Schenck. Exeter responded with just one goal In the second period Seaforth scored three more goals with Exeter only being able to put one behind Seaforth goaltender Karen Delvecchio Jennifer Jones was credited with her first goal of the season with Melissa and Cathy roundmg out the scoring. Cathy and Michelle got the assists. All the Seaforth players showed a lot of hustle with the final score •Seaforth 8 Exeter 2. On Sunday, Stratford came to Seaforth to take on the Novice II. Cathy Coyne open- ed the scoring at .the . six minute mark. Seaforth scored three more goals before the end of the first period with Stratford being able to beat Karen Delvecchio once. Michelle Tyndall, Cathy and Kendall Schenk accounted for the scoring with an assist going to Cathy Coyne. In the second period, Kendall and Michelle each scored their second goals with Melissa ,Robertson also scoring one. Julie Crowley was rewarded for all her hard work with one assist. Stratford tallied twice to matte the final score Seaforth 7, Stratford 3.
