.On .Sunday, October '29, The Seaforth
Reties Ringette team :hosted'.Stratford Mon
exhibition..game.: Seaforth-showed amp+=with
only eight pieyers .and :one =pick up:•from
the juniors, 1 i1lclslwain• "No -pro-
blem", ..afterlistening to a.keen,rsong "Bat-
tle .of New Orleans" :the .girls were ready
to go.
The team looked -very promising, .but
witha limited number of ;players, .they
lacked a goalie. Fortunately Sara `twill
played'in net Sendaynighttand was superb
considering the small -amount .of .practice.
Stratford scored the .first goal .but that
was just a mild 'set back for ,Seaforth as
they went on to win .the .game 21 to 11.
'The "player of the -game' :was.Seafarth's
defenceman No. 18 .Shelly Nigh, -who mov-
ed up to play wing. After :many .imsuc-
cessful attempts, she finally scored :her
first goal for the year. "Way to go .Shel-
ly!'
Overall Seaforth played poor defensive-
ly, but made un for it with their great
scoring techniques.
Goalscorers for Seaforth were Jill Betties
and Tammy Nash with .six each. Lisa
Henderson with four, ;Cheryl McElwain
three, Susan Roweliife, 1, :and. Shelly Nigh
with 1 (finally). Girls next game is Friday,
November 3 at 8 pan. in Huron Park.

to:the-game, a -.solo eeffort by Brad Carter,

two minutes .later and .gave Seaforth
another goal, -assisted 'by `Brad Beutten-

period:kbelonged to the Centenaires..asw-they
.stuffed in goal number three sat.:12:04 into
the :game, scored by Paul 'McElwain with
:assists by Blair Beuerman and Jason
Schoonderwoerd.'The heretofore scoreless
Apple Jacks answered with a goal of :their
own 20 'seconds later, and the first period
ended with the Centenaires comfortably
leading 3-1.

The Seaforth Novice 2 Ringette team
travelled to Goderich on Sunday, October
29 for its first .game of .the season,
Goderich started off the scoring just 41
seconds .into the game. Seaforth answered
with an unassisted goal by Melissa' Robert-
son to tie the game., Goderich came :back
with another goal, but Cathy Coyne's
unassisted goal tied :the game once again.
Goderich scored 'two more goals, -but Cathy.
Coyne, assisted by Kendall Schenk, and

Bazaars, shows rpae
Christmas is fast approaching, And so
are the many craft shows. and. bazaars.
The St. Thomas:Anglican Church will be
sponsoring its ANNUAL BAZAAR on
Saturday, November 18 -from 2 pan. at the
Church Hall. Feature items include; a
country dell, a, bake table, -craft ,table and
tea -table. Admission is free:
The .HOSP.ITAL .,AUXILIARY will be
hosting its ,annual bazaar on rlVionday,
November-27•from-from,11.asn..:to 4.pma.
This bazaar -Will .be held .in the Hospital
Hoard -room. Drive_around.to the rear of
the hospital, ..and go into the back ;door.
The board room is'dowpt the .hall and on
your right :hand side. Once there you will
find many crafts, . baking and a tea ..table.
Come out .and :support these :local events.
Plan to stay .at home .on the first
weekend in December. ,Seaforth will -Offer
you and your ,family many events to visit.
On Friday evening, .to start the .big
weekend, the .annual .EVENING SANTA
CLAUS PARADE Will ..;be =held. "Thi&,parade
will have many ,bands and -beautifully-lit
floats. 'The parade..willrbegin at the Com-
munity Centres<and-marchnown'the-main
street. ,After the sparade, ',the -children can
visit Santa, for a treat And tell -him what
they want for 'Christmas.
On .Saturday -evening, .:the HARMONY
HI-LITES will -perform ' their ,annual
CHRISTMAS CABARET.-TheAhow.;w]ll be

held at the Community Centres and will
feature small skits and concert singing.
The third Annual MIDWESTERN ON-
TARIO SHOW and SALE will :be held on
Sunday, December 3. This show will
feature Farm Toys, Dolls and miniature
dolls, crafts, quilts and antiques. Five
shows each in their own separate building.
The shows :.begin at 9:30 and last
.throughout'atbe,alay (until
:Special features will .be, -free ice skating
from 12 till3 p.m. Hayrides, a lunch room
and -Many-door prizes. Admission Will he
$2 for,.adutts and children nnder12 �rtill be
free if Accompanied by an ;adult.

a .hard-fought back and forth duel, ,but
once again the denlding goals were -scored
in the third period by the 'wrong :team.
Lucan opened -the game with a goal
halfway through the first period. 'Brad
Carter scored for Seeforth on.avaiats from
:game -to Go -rich
Melissa Robertson, unassisted, each, popped
one in to end the first half in a fou -four
tie.
Goderich started the second half with
three goals which were soon matched by
Seaforth. Cathy Coyne scored twice and
Melissa .Robertson scored once to tie the
game 7-7.
Goderich managed to 'score four more
and Seaforth's Melissa Robertson was able
to pop in two unassisted goals to finish the
game Goderich 11, Seaforth 9.
Michelle Tyndall played a strong game
in net, making numerous saves. She was
assisted by :defencemen Julianne Crowley
Katie Holland, Kim Devereaux, Cheryl
Workman and Jennifer Jones.
.$Cue sticks - Tricia Jansen, Kendall
Scherk, Karen and Jenny Delvecchio work-
ed hard the entire game, using their great
passing skills. The team is coached by
Joanne Holland, Steve Tyndall and
manager is Judy Jansen. 'The girls' next
game will be in Hensall .against Exeter on
Saturday at 4:30. On Sunday November 5,
Stratford Will visit Seaforth for a game at
noon. Come ;.and see the youngest -ringette
players show off their skills,

The Centenaires :.muscled Into the third
period at the losing Fend of 3:2 -score.
Carter, mon-assists.arom:Beuttemniller and
Steve Schroeder, came in to =score for
SeAforth.and'inere seconds .later 'Ted -Sills
:gave the Centenaires another goal, assiated
by Carter and Beuttenniiller. All was for k
naught, however, as .the .powerful loran
squad capped effthegame with two 'more
goals in the final six minutes of the -con-
test, winning :the game 7-4.
The Centenaires travel to Tavistock on
Friday night, and play .a home game on
Sunday afternoon at 1:30 against -Exeter.
With any amount :of determination and
work on the all-important power play, -the
team .e.an:hopefully overcome:a -rocky start
and .pull themarlves together for the -up-
roming season.
