Tremeerand eventually won the game 11-4. 0 .e ., f res s °,.u,:. * il-ti• two The Seatorth Centenaires found themselves on the wrong end of a four - point spread twice this weekend, ,suffering an 8-4 loss against the Exeter Hawks on Friday night and .bowing to the Tavistock Braves 6-2 on Sunday „afternoon. The Exeter .squad, obviously miffed at last week's defeat at the hands of the Centenaires, .came into town with a vengeance. Seaforth opened the scoring with a goal by captain , Mike Betties, HURON SUPERIIO MEMORIAL ESTABLISHED:OVER-60 YEARS a tett lime eete► slim+ trr , Serving .Seatorth,and.a II -of -Huron .County MICHAEL. Carter gave Seaforth another goal on an aseist from Brian Taylor and Jason McNichol to make the game 2-1 for the Centenaires, but -by the end of the first period the' Hawks had tied the game 2-2. A series of four more goals by the Ex- eter team dizzied the Centenaires, but Brad Carter managed to get another goal by .the Exeter net with help from Jeff Gemmell and Brad Schroeder. The second period ended with the score sitting at 6-3. Jason Cooper was _replaced in the Seaforth net at the start of the third :period by Bill Tremeer. The Centenaires couldn't seem to -rally, and Exeter insulted them two more times to take a five point lead. Finally Paul McLiwain, on assists from Blair Beuerman and Rich Boddy, scored a fruitless goal with nine seconds left in the game. Sunday's match against the Tavistock Braves started out on a bleak note for the Centenaires, as the Braves dove in and team was unable to win the period. 5-2 after the second, Bader photo. mare f h took a two goal lead in the first period. Seaforth didn't make it onto the board un- til the second period, when Brad Beuten- miller teamed up with Brad Carter and Ted Sills for a goal. The Centenaires went into the third period facing a not -insurmountable two goal Exeter lead, but once again the team couldn't seem to pull it together. The ever- present Brad Carter scored a short hand- ed goal with assists by Jason Beuttemuiller and Brad Schroeder. The Hawks had been saving their best for last, however, and pounded three more goals into the Seaforth net to finalize the score, 6-2. Bill Tremeer did some fine . work in the net for the Centenaires but was no match for the mighty Tavistock team. • The Centenaires will travel to Wellesley on Saturday night for an 8:15 'start, and will be back home Sunday afternoon at 1:30 to take on Liman. Maybe the break from a Friday night game, is the tonic that the team needs to pull out of its slump.
