Seaforth teams finish strongly
Seaforth Public School wrapped up a
very successful and exciting soccer season
on Thursday under cold, grey skies with a
tournament at Huron Centennial School.
The Senior Boys' and Senior Girls' teams
travelled to Brucefield to take on
Vanastra, Blyth, Hullett, Clinton and the
host team Huron Centennial in a round
robin tourney and came home with an im-
pressive second place showing overall.
The girls' team, coadhed by Georgina
Reynolds, placed second in their division
while the boys, under the leadership of
Rob Snell, also racked up a second place
finish. Quite a few of the team members
graciously volunteered to play for the
short-handed Vanastra teams, so every stu-
dent who tried out had a chance to play on
Thursday.

Rustlerse Raiders well matched in first game
Men's Broomball
Oct. 5/89
RED RUSTLERS 1 -RAIDERS 1
Paul 1- oggarth started the scoring for
the Rustlers with a wham bang shot, with
a little help from Ralph Nivins. Tying the
game up was Jeff Campbell. He hurled a
whirlwind shot and scored, off passing
from Dwayne Pryce and Sean Malady. A
well matched pair of teams.
GRADS 0 -PARR LINE 2
Keen Ed Salverda wasted no time get-
ting on the scoreboard for Parr Line with
a goal off a pass from Craig Piett. A bold
shot by Paul Gibbings got the crowd roar-
ing. He was assisted by Ed Salverda and
Craig Piett. The Grads' energy was
holding up very well with only two extra
bodies to trade off with. Good game guys.
WINTHROP 0 -EASY RIDERS 3
Pete Menheu tricked the opposing goalie
as he tipped the ball into the net. An
unbelievable goal by Ed Van Miltenburg
put the Riders on the board again. He
circled around behind the net and twirled
the ball in front. From his knees Joe Vink
passed the ball directly into the net off a
complex pass by Steve Eckert Jr. The
Winthrop Men had a full team but not• a
net full of goals.
KNIGHTS 5 -ROYALS 0 •
Fiery Joe Vink blasted the ball in the
net for the Knights. Mighty Brian Argyl
lifted the ball over the goalie's shoulder
and scored off a great slap pass by Paul
Nyenhuis. Brother Jim Nyenhuis snuck in
a goal, with co-pilot Larry Baer,.Big Mack
Louwagie trounced the ball into the net
and Steve Eckert Jr., got the other.
Lawrence Vink was by his side. Keep up
the good spirit Royals.
