M the Seaforth District High School
commencement ;held Friday evening, The
Legion :presented a .scholarship to Peter
Ste. Marie to the value lof :$500 to further
his .education. It was presented by Gordon
Le Jong, lst vice president of the Legion.
At .the same time the Ladies Auxiliary to
the Branch presented a $500 scholarship to
Andrea Muir, this presented by Jane Case,
Lathes Auxiliary President.
The Legion Bowling league will be star-
ting .this Friday night at 7 p.m. If any
members would like to bowl this year
please phone John Cairns for information.

DONALD ANSQN MILLARD
Donald Anson Millard of Seaforth, and
formerly of Brantford, died Wednesday,
September 27, 1989 at his residence. .He
was 58.
Born in West Oxford Township • on Ma}
25, 1931, he was a son of the late Fred
Millard and the former Roby Hughes.
He was a member of St. Thomas
Anglican Church in Seaforth and the
Seaforth Optimist Club
Mr. Millard is survived by his wife, the
former ,.Alice Sharon Hotham; sisters, Mrs.
Albert (Ethel) Atkinson, Mrs. Georgina
Pullin an Mrs. William (Betty) Pullin. all
of Woodstock; and brothers, Wesley,
Harold and Ross, all of Woodstock, and
Wilfred of Sweaburg•
• He was predeceased by brothers Norman
and Maurice.
Friends were received at the Whitney-
Ribey Funeral Home in Seaforth and .a
funeral service was held on Saturday at St
"Thomas Anglican Church with the
Reverend Greg Gilson .officiating. Burial
was in Sweaburg Cemetery. '
MARGUERITE A. TARDIFF
Marguerite A. Tardiff of Chelsey Park
Nursing Home in London, and formerly of
Montreal and Seaforth, died at the, age of
96.
Born in Dublin', Ontario,, on January 28,
1893, she was the daughter of the late Mat-
, thew Williams and the former Jane Carlin.
She is survived by one daughter Betty
(Mrs. Herbert Lippert) of Granby, Quebec;
and one son Donald and his wife Gladys of
Rancho Santa Fe., California.
Mrs. Tardiff was predeceased by her
husband Walter J. Tardiff.
She rested at the Ball and Falconer
"Boc Funeral Chapel" in Seaforth, and a
funeral mass was held at St. James
Church in Seaforth on Tuesday, September
26, 1989. The Reverend Caruana officiated.
Pallbearers were Paul Lippert, Jerome
Aubin, Tom Hepburn and William Kunz.
Interment St. James Cemetery.
MARGARET "ANN" PRIMEAU'
Margaret ',Ann" Primeau of Huronview,
and .formerly of Seaforth, died Friday,
September 29, 1989. She was 88.

formed 60 years ago. The Branch has been
celebrating the Diamond anniversary with
several events through the year. The next

Born in Belvany fn Renfrew County on
April 15, 1901, she was a daughter of the
late Albert Marchand and former Mary
Ann McCarthy,
She is survived by three sons, Ray and
his wife Marion of RR 2 Clinton, Albert
and his wife Ann of Janetvhlle and Michael
and his wfie Peggy of Whitby; nine grand-
children; and six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Primeau was predeceased by her
husband Armoney J. Primeau; one sister
Adell Marchand; and three brothers, John,
Eugene and L.T. Marchand.
Mrs. Primeau rested at the "Ball
Chapel' of Beattie -Falconer Funeral
Homes Ltd., and a funeral mass was held
at St. Joseph's Church in Clinton on Oc-
tober 2, with the Reverend Ray Renaud
officiating.
Pallbearers were John Primeau, Dan

OLIVE ELIZABETH BECHELI'
Olive Elizabeth (Beth) Bechely of
Seaforth, died Sunday, October 1, 1989 at
the Seaforth Community Hospital. She"was
89.
A daughter of the late Walter Willis and
Maude Willson she was a member of Nor-
thside United Church in Seaforth.
She is survived by a son Michael of
Waterloo; and a daughter Patricia Arthur
of Florida.'
Also surviving are six grandchildren;
nine great-grandchildren; and one brother
Gordon Willis of California.
Mrs. Bechely` was predeceased by her
husband Francis Bechely: one sister
Muriel Watson; and one brother Robert
Willis.
Friends called at the Whitney-Ribey
Funeral Home in Seaforth and a funeral
service will be held there today (Wednes-
day , at 2 p.m. Interment Maitlandbank
Cemeter} , Seaforth.
