High school basketball teams lose against Mitchell
The Seaforth District High School Golden
Bears girls' basketball teams travelled to
Mitchell to go head-to-head with the Blue
Devils.
The midgets played first and lost by a
score of 46 to 19. High point scorers for.
Seaforth were Monica Ryan and Shelly
Lansink both with six points. Mitchell's
high scorer was Kim Kittner.
Next to play was the senior team . They
lost the game, that was close at times, by
a score of 41 to 31. The Seaforth bench
received a technical foul after Mrs.
Waldick, coach, voiced her opinion about
several questionable calls by the referees.
Melissa Whitmore fouled out of the game.

defeating Brodhagen Bandits to an 11-9 vic-
tory and taking the series 4 games to 1.
The Titans earlier defeated the,Seaforth
Eagles in a 4-2 series. Players include
Dave Underwood, Peter Marten, Dave
Hulley, Ken De Corte, Steve Jansen, Ted
Van Dyke, Steve Van • Dyk, Steve
Schroeder, Ron Pryce, Barry Vincent, Jeff
Campbell, Jeff McKellar,' Jeff Beuermann,
andDave Campbell. The team thanks their
loyal fans for their support throughout the
season and sponsors of the team.

The junior team played last, and they
also lost their game. The score was Mit-
chell 30 to Seaforth with 14. Tracy Fortune
was high point scorer for Seaforth with
nine points, including a three pointer - Mit-
chell's high point scorer was Donya
Daynard with eight.
From a winning point of view it wasn't
a very successful day, but everyone pick-
ed up some tips and it is stili.,early in the
season. They'll probably have better luck
Wednesday when they play,tlinton.
On Friday, October 6 come out and
cheer on your Bears as they go up against
Stratford's St. Mike's Warriors. The first
game goes at 4:30 p.m. and the last game
ends around 9 p.m. They need your sup-
