She is presently employed at Little Gems Day Care in Ancaster. WEDDINGS VIOLET A. SMIITH Violet A. Smith of Seaforth, died Mon- day, August 21, 1989 at the Stratford General Hospital. She was 73. Born in Grey Township on July 12, 1916, she was the daughter of William Campbell Ellacott and the former Mary Ann Pratt. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy and her husband Aubrey Wood- man of New Harbor, Newfoundland and Sandra and her husband Kieven Bennewies of RR 1 Dublin; and one son Bruce of Seaforth. Also surviving are: one sister Laura (Mrs. Charles Fischer) of Brussels; one brother Howard Ellacott of Listowel; and six grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her hus- band Archibald Smith; one son Roger; one sister Evaline Jeffery; and three brothers, Elmer, Clarence and George Ellacott. • A funeral service was held at the Ball and Falconer "Box Funeral Chapel" in Seaforth and was officiated by Pastor Ray Faulkner. Interment Maitland Bank Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald Bray, Donald Fischer, Carl Elg, John Henderson, Keith Rock and William Smith. JAMES HOPPER James Milton Hopper of RR 2 Seaforth, died Thursday, August 24, 1989 at the Clin- ton Public Hospital. He was 54. Born at Seaforth on October 28, 1934, he was a son of the late William D. Hopper and the former Edna McNeil. He was a member of the Clinton con- gregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He had worked with W.D. Hopper and Sons well drilling since 1950• Mr. Hopper is survived by his wife, the former Marie Campbell; and four sons, Douglas, Allan, Scott and Timothy. Also surviving are two brothers, Neil and Durl, both of RR 2 Seaforth; and two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Luella) Nuhn of St.. Jacobs and Mrs, Ken (Gladys) Forbes of Cambridge. There was no funeral home visitation. A memorial service was held on Sunday at the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home in Seaforth, with Walter Gardiner officiating. Burial was in Maitlandbank -Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Watch Tower building project or the VON of Huron County. OBITUARIES Lloyd Ernest Rumba11 Lloyd Rumball of the Callander Nursing Home, Brussels, and formerly of Clinton, died in Wingham and District Hospital on August 24. He was 78. Born in Clinton on May 23, 1911, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Elizabeth (Rands) Rurnball. A laborer in the dairy farming industry by trade, Mr. Rumball was also an Adherent to the Ontario Street United Church. He is survived by two sisters, Eileen (Mrs. Sam Rennie), and Helen (Mrs. John Anderson), both of Hensall, and by one brother, George Rumball and his wife Minlue of Clinton. He is also survived by neices and nephews. A private funeral service was held at the Ball and Falconer Funeral Home on August 26, with Rev, Cheryl Anne Stadelbauer-Sarnpa presiding, Interment in Clinton Cemetery, ELIE BURY Elie Bury, formerly of Seaforth, died Tuesday, August 22, 1989 at Parkwood Hospital, London. He was 70. He is survived by one daughter, Ginette (Mrs. Jim Nash Sr.) of Seaforth; one sister Mary in Belgium; eight grand- children and 13 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marie Theres Kane, one sister Martha, and one grandson Danny. The family received visitors at the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home Seaforth and a Mass of Christian Burial Ws held at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Seaforth on Friday. Interment St. James Cemetery. JOSEPH HUGILL • Joseph Tasker Hugill of Seaforth, died Saturday, August 26, 1989 at the Seaforth Community Hospital. He was 84. Born in Hullett Township on February 17, 1906, he was a son of the late. James }Mein and the former Ellen Tasker. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Norma Cook,in 1974, and his second wife, the former Helen Sherring, in 1988. Mr. Hugill had farmed prior to moving to Seaforth, and was a carpenter and con- tractor as well. He retired from carpentry in 1975, and then made violins. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Seaforth. Mr. Hugill is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Karen) Driscoll and Mrs. George (Joyce) Miller, both of Seaforth; and a daughter-in-law Alma Hugill, also of Seaforth. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Wilkinson of British Columbia. Mr. Hugill was predeceased by a daughter, Gwen McCutcheon; a son Laverne; and a granddaughter, Lori Reid. • Friends were received at the Whitney- Ribey Funeral Home in Seaforth and a funeral service was held on Tuesday. ' Burial was in Maitlandbank Cemetery. A Masonic service was held at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Jamie Hugill, Scott Driscoll, Jamie Jutzi, Doug Hugill Jr., Blaine McCutcheon and Dave Underwood. Flower bearers were Angie Jervis, Tracey Bisbank, Sherri -Lynn Hugill Carrie McKillen and Michael Hugill.
