Ladies teams keen in outings
The Ladies Industrial Softball League
action was played Tuedsay night with all
teams keen. Both games were being
played for double points to make up for a
rained out games.
The opener of the evening saw the
Queens come up against the Kids Kloze
Killers. The Queens pulled off the win
with a 13-12 score.
Big hitters for the winners were Pam
Campbell and Deb Martin, both hitting
doubles.
Despite their loss the K had their
bats swinging. Hitting doubles were Nan-
cy Storey, Joan Murray, Lynn Devereaux
and Linda Van Dyk. Hitting triples were
Marilyn DenHaan, Nancy Gridzak and
Linda Van Dyk.
The Commercial and Coops met for the
second game of the evening. The Com-
mercial were the visitors. Contributing to
the win were Sandra Butt with a double;
Hilda Young, Donna Arts and Karen Van
Bakel hitting triples and Hessie Kiepfer
and Hilda Young with home runs.
Ladies compete for McLean trophy
Ladies of the Seaforth Lawn Bowling
Club held a tournament among members
of their club on Monday afaternoon while
bowling for the McLean Trophy.
In first place were Jean Lunn (skip),
Rika Van Bakel (vice) and Ruth Beuten-
miller (lead). Second place went to Edna
Bell (skip), Dorothy McCluskie (vice)
and Jessie Hiller (lead). Third were
Carol Carter (skip), Thelma Coombs
(vice) and Edith McMillan (lead) and
fourth were Eileen Adamson (skip), Carol

Lucan on Monday, July 31 and won , by Grand Bend 5-2 in Grand Bend on Tues -

—TO CNSIDER A PROP SED OFFICIAL PLAN AMEND ENT
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the County of Huron and
the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Tuckersmlth wilt hold a public
meeting on Tuesday, September 1 1. 1989 at 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers,
Vanastra to consider the following:
1. To allow the public to comment on the (need for revisions of the Secondary
Plan for the Township of Tuckersmith under section 26 of the Planning Act, 1983.
The Planning Act requires that municipalities provide the pultillcwith the op-
portunity through a special meeting of Council to comment on the•need,for revi-
sions to the Secondary Pian. This meeting is an opportunity for persons with
comments or suggested change: to make their thoughts known to Council.
2. To consider a proposea official plan amendment under section 17 of the Plan-
ning Act, 1983. The proposer[ pian amendment would update the existing Secon-
dary Plan and includes the following:
(a) update the pian by replacing references to the 1980 Planning Act with
references to the 1983 Planning Act;
(b) add provisions under Section. 35 of the Planning Act, allowing Council
to use Holding Zone provisions.
(c) add policies allowing for accessory residences to establish in conjunc-
tion with commercial/industrial property in Vanastra. This will only be per-
mitted where the commercial/industrial use abuts a residential designa-
tion and these policies, will be labelled cottage industries;
(d) add policies regulating the establishment of condominiums;
(e) add additional policies to the natural environment section of the plan
to allow existing lots designated natural environment a residence;
(f) to redesignate approximately .76 acres of land, including an existing
restaurant and adjacent to Vanastra and located on Part Lot 45, Conces-
sion 1, L.R.S., from Restricted Agriculture to Vanastra (Commercial/In-
dustrial) - (see attached [nap);
(g) to redesignate certain lands, located on Part Lot 47, Concession 1,
L.R.S. (Vanastra) from Restricted Agriculture to Commercial/Industrial.
These lands have frontage of approximately 300 metres on 7th Avenue
(see Key Map).
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal
representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed official plan
amendment.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the proposed official plan amendment
is available for inspection between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Huron Coun-
ty Department of Planning and Development (524-2188) or at the Township of
Tuckeramith Municipal Office (482-9523).

Evening appointments amenable
with the first game scheduled for 9 a.m.
St. Columban Pewees' first game is
scheduled for 12 noon against Nairn. This
tournmament is for the league champion-
ship so it will be very enter*•' -'n' ‘•nr-
cer. Come out and enjoy.
The Peewee playes are rem, that
their uniforms are to be handed in at the
-conclusion of the tournament.
UNDER 17
The St. Columban U -17s jumped to a 4-1
halftime lead and cruised to a 7-1 win
over Merton in St. Columban on Monday,
July 31. Rem Murray scored three times
in this contest while Steve Ryan added
two - one of them when Steve took a cor-
ner kick. Jason Schoonderweord and
Jason Cooper rounded out the scoring,
Kurt Lindeman was in goal for this
contest and played well. The U -17s have
one more game left in the regular season
- August 7 in Grand Bend.
McLean (vice) and Jean Pinder (leads.
Six teams bowled in this afternoon
tourament.
In Clinton mixed pairs on Wednesday
Art and Mary Finlayson captured first
place with 3 w plus 42 op 1 - Bill Brown
and Carol Carter were high two game
winners with 2 w plus 45 op 6.
Bowling in London on Thursday at the
Thistle Club for the Kingsmill Trophy the
rink of Mary Finlayson (skip), Jean Lunn
(vice) and Olive Papple (lead) were se-
cond with 3 w plus 36. This was the first
time teams from the Seaforth club had
bowled at the Thistle Club. Although the
weather was extremely hot good com-
petitive games were played.
Sunday at 1:30 pm there will be bowl-
ing for the Lorne Dale Trophy. This has
been a favorite tournament for many
years and by the number of entries to
date this year is no exception.
The anniversary tournament is filled to
date and the Social Committee met on
Wednesday evening to discuss menus for
that day. As there will be 144 bowlers
that day it takes a great deal of planning
and members are always willing to help.
Monday is the Standard Trust tourna-
ment in Goderich and several teams have
indicated they are bowling there. Ladies
of Mitchell are hosting a ladies trebles on
Tuesday with pot luck lunch while on
Wednesday Wingham have ladies pairs
and Stratford ladies pairs the Bradshaw
tournament on Friday.
Donations for the anniversary tourna-
ment may be left with Jack Muir, Edna
Bell, Mary Finlayson or Katie Phillips.
