Manor residents discuss aging
On Monday, residents of the Seaforth
Manor began their day with Fun and
Fitness. In the afternofih a few ventured
outside for warm walks.
Tuesday the cat `Hobo' had his annual
"haircut". Also in the morning several
residents worked hard getting the foam
ready for the pillows to be stuffed.
Wednesday morning several ladies had
their hair done. Is a tomato a fruit or a
vegetable? was one off the stumpers at
Trivia and Word Games in the afternoon.
Residents participated in some varying
brain teasers; congratulations to Mel
Hulley who was very successful in word
scramble.
Thursday afternoon featured Food Ser-
vice Supervisor, Cathy Scott, discussing
various aspects of Nutrition and Aging.
An interested group of residents had
several questions for Cathy and enjoyed
the nutritious snack of pizza and milk
afterwards.
The winners of the first summertime
Scavenger Hunt were Mamie Ross and
Pat Ryan. Both Mamie and Pat correctly
answered all questions.
National Ice Cream Day fell on Satur-
day and wlth the heat of recent days
residents celebrated with "do-it-yourself'
sundaes. Thanks to Viola Lawson and
Hazel McGonigle for their help.
Get Well Wishes are extended to Mae
Watterworth and Anne Henderson.
The Manor welcomes Marguerite Shill.

SEAFORTH MANOR Food Service Supervisor Cathy Scott recently talked to manor
residents about nutrition and aging. She told the seniors how what they eat can con-
serve their health and hold off the onset of illness, and did her best to field questions
like "how do you keep from aging°" Corbett photo.

NEWS
by Gordon Scott
The recent golf scramble hosted at the
local golf course was again a success. It
was followed by a potluck supper at the
Branch. Once again a special thanks to
the sports chairman and her committee
for a job well done.
The next item on the 60th Anniversary
program will be an afternoon of enter-
tainment on Saturday, August 12. It will
be sponsored by a committee of Associate
members (sons, daughters and wives).

The District golf tournament is also
scheduled for that day at Sauble Beach
golf course. Seaforth has three teams
qualified to participate (one seniors and
one regular).
Sixtieth anniversary chairman Betty
Felker would like to take this opportunity
to thank everyone who is any way helped
make the Drumhead Service the success
it was. Also a special thanks to the
Ladies Auxiliary for the fine lunch, and
the comrades who helped set up the
memorabilia show while Frank Phillips
was in hospital.
Last Sunday, 11 Seaforth Comrades at-
tended the Drumhead Service at Elmira.
Comrade Murray Ross and George Case
carried the color in the color party.
The Branch will be sending a bulletin
to the members in August, so if all com-
mittee chairmen would please have their
dates, announcements et cetera in by the
first week in August it would be
appreciated.
They grow not old as we that are left

remember them.
