In the afternofih a few ventured outside for warm walks. Tuesday the cat `Hobo' had his annual "haircut". Also in the morning several residents worked hard getting the foam ready for the pillows to be stuffed. Wednesday morning several ladies had their hair done. Is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable? was one off the stumpers at Trivia and Word Games in the afternoon. Residents participated in some varying brain teasers; congratulations to Mel Hulley who was very successful in word scramble. Thursday afternoon featured Food Ser- vice Supervisor, Cathy Scott, discussing various aspects of Nutrition and Aging. An interested group of residents had several questions for Cathy and enjoyed the nutritious snack of pizza and milk afterwards. The winners of the first summertime Scavenger Hunt were Mamie Ross and Pat Ryan. Both Mamie and Pat correctly answered all questions. National Ice Cream Day fell on Satur- day and wlth the heat of recent days residents celebrated with "do-it-yourself' sundaes. Thanks to Viola Lawson and Hazel McGonigle for their help. Get Well Wishes are extended to Mae Watterworth and Anne Henderson. The Manor welcomes Marguerite Shill. It was followed by a potluck supper at the Branch. Once again a special thanks to the sports chairman and her committee for a job well done. The next item on the 60th Anniversary program will be an afternoon of enter- tainment on Saturday, August 12. It will be sponsored by a committee of Associate members (sons, daughters and wives). Seaforth has three teams qualified to participate (one seniors and one regular). Sixtieth anniversary chairman Betty Felker would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who is any way helped make the Drumhead Service the success it was. Also a special thanks to the Ladies Auxiliary for the fine lunch, and the comrades who helped set up the memorabilia show while Frank Phillips was in hospital. Last Sunday, 11 Seaforth Comrades at- tended the Drumhead Service at Elmira. Comrade Murray Ross and George Case carried the color in the color party. The Branch will be sending a bulletin to the members in August, so if all com- mittee chairmen would please have their dates, announcements et cetera in by the first week in August it would be appreciated.
