This is a total of $15,000 in cash Branch 156 has donated and perhaps another donation will be possible if the financial needs of the hospital are not met in the near future. Our Ladies Auxiliary had a successful dinner for the public last Sunday. The Ladies President Jane Case would like to thank all the ladies who donated desserts and helped in anyway, also to the public who supported this dinner. The next Sun- day dinner will be in September. At the Zone Golf Tournament the Seaforth teams did very well. One senior team of Ken and Rod Doig, Don Eaton and Bill Harris came second and two regular teams of Jim and Dave Watson, Joh LEGION NEWS by Gordon Scott Jerome Aubin and Terry Johnston and the other team of Allyson and Barbara Scott, Phil Hogarth and Errol Skillender also qualified to go to the District coin -- petition August 12 at Owen Sound. Cecil Pepper was the usher. Hensall United Church will be closed July 16, 23, and 30. An invitation from the Presbyterian church to- attend worsntp with them at 9:45 a.m. has been offered. During the month of August the Presbyterian •con- gFegation are invited to worship at the' United Church. CARMEL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, JULY 9, 1989 Reverend Mark Gaskin called the con- gregation to worship and followed with a prayer of adoration, and psalm of praise. After the reading of the scriptures and children's hymn, the congregation joined in prayers. The sermon was a . most interesting one and dwelt on . the need for us to help each other in any way we can. The offering and usual proceedings followed and the final hymn was sung. Reverend Gaskin accompanied by Edith Bell conducted the Sunday evening ser- vice at the Bluewater Rest Home. St. Columbian students win competition SL Coiumban Correspondent MRS. Chris, Leanne, Kim and Daryl as well as Sandra Claesens competed in various band performances on Sunday, July 9 and received medals for their winnings. Leanne and Daryl also received scholar- ship awards.
