STRATHROY 7-SEAF©R.TH 5 Game two in Sunday's doubleheader was a little closer, with only a two run difference in the outcome. Atom Its .triumpft over Lucas SQUIRT The St. Columban Squirts travelled to Lucan on Thursday and came home with a close 2-1 win. The squirt defence, along with goaitender Danny O'Reilly' continues to improve with every game under the guidance of defensive coordinator Neil Murray. Ryan Van Dooren and Jared Murray were the goalscorers, The squirts season's record is now four wins and one loss. ATOM 1 Charles Robertson's goal, assisted by Jeff Van Bakel was the only offence the St. Columban Atom Is could muster in a 4-1 loss to a strong Exeter I squad on June 12. Pat Coyne and Scott Van Doorer, shared the goaltending duties. The Atom Is' record now stands at three wins, one loss and one tie. ATOM 11 The St. Cohunban Atom Its upped their season's record to fourwinsagainst one loss in a 3-2 triumph over Lucan I in Lucan on June 12. Bruce Griffen scored twice and Larry Kelly added another. Goaltender Mike Murray and the Atom II defence again proved their worth to the team. with a very solid effort. The Atorn IIs' .next home game is Monday, June .26 against .Grand Bend in Dublin at 7 pan. PEEWEE The St. Columban -Peewees:moved pass- ed ethe :600 mark with a 7-1 trouncing over Nairn in St. Columban on June 13. On Thursday the ladies held :their first tournament of the season and teams were present from Goderich, Atwood, Mitchell, Exeter and Seaforth. First place went to Grace Scrimegeour and Kay Shalt of Goderich with 3w plus of 47. 3n ,second place were Carol Carter .and Grace Broadfoot with 3w plus '37. Two Seaforth rinks travailed to Toronto on Saturday to compete in .the Provincial Lawn Bowling Association playdowns of fours'competition. 'The .,ladies rink con- sisted of Olive •Papple (lead), Eileen Adamson (2nd), Jean Lunn (vice) and Mary Finlayson (skip). 'Playing .at the •Wiilowdale Club they won .their first game against Kingston •26-9 ;and the :se- cond game ,against Guelph 24-11, only to be defeated by the _Glenridge rink 'of St. Catharines 19-11. An electrical -storm, which delayed the start of ..the .third .game, made for :less than ,favorable conditions for bowling, .however it..was a, good,esperience .as ,this is .the ;first .time .the ladies :have played en fours competition.
