Snoopy school, in added to vet programs
Summer is here again and with it
comes another season of PLAYSCHOOL
AND PLAYGROUND. This year we are
adding two new groups; Snoopy school
and L.I.T.
The children will be divided as follows:
3 to 5 years - Snoopy school; 6 to 8 years
- Playschool; 9 to 12 years - Playground
and 13 to 16 years - Leader -in -Training.
We have many new and exciting trips
and activities planned, as well as a few
old ..favorites. There will be additional
costs for some of the trips, which will be
outhned upon registration.
The above programs will begin on July
3 and finish on August 18. They run from
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day with the lunch
hour being supervised.
This year you can purchase your
child's lunch from the Hilton Bagged
Lunch Co. Ltd. More information will be
handed out on the registration night.
This registration night will be held on
Wednesday, June 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at
the Seaforth and District Community
Centres.
Registration fees are as follows: full
time (7 weeks) is $60, part time 're days
RECREATION PREVIEW
by (Recreation Director) Marty Bedard
for 7 weeks is $35, and one full week will
be $20.
The Seaforth Branch Library will be
hosting a GIANT BOOK SALE. This sale
will raise money for the Branch's new
Computer Terminal. The dates of the sale
will be Saturday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to
5 p.m. to Friday, June 30 during regular
library hours. All types of books will be
available - hardcover, paperbacks and
magazines. Prices will range from five
cents to 50 cents, For more information
please call the Library at 527-1430.
CANADA DAY CELEBRATIONS will
be held in Seaforth again this year on
Saturday, July 1. Celebrations include: 7
a.m. to 11 a.m. - Firemen's Morning
Breakfast at the Firehall; 12 noon -
Leisure Walk Poker Rally starting from
Victoria Park; 2 p.m. - Drumhead Ser-
vice at Victoria Park Cenotaph; and Con-
cert in the Park after the Service.
Come see the new renovations at the
Park. The Legion would also like to in-
vite everyone back to the Legion Hall for
their open house.
Don't miss the Fireworks Display at
the High School once it gets dark. We are
asking for a donation of $5 to offset the
cost of the fireworks.
If you are a student aged 5 to 20 years
and interested in the theatre, the Blyth
Festival will be offering free drama ,pro-
grams
pro-
grams from July 17 to August 13. Last
year, the workshops for younger children
concluded with a fun performance of a
play they had created themselves.

Squirts led to victory by .performance of goalie
SQUIRTS
Danny O'Reilly's shutout performance
in goal led the St. Columban Squirts to a
close 2-0 win over Exeter TV in 'Lucan
and District Soccer League action on
Thursday, June 8 in Dublin. Jason
Anstett and Jared Murray were the
goalscorers in this game as the Squirt
Sts Patrick's hosts
team continues to improve with every
outing.
ATOM 1
The St. Columban I kept their unbeaten
record intact but it wasn't easy as the St.
Columban team had to battle back to tie
the visiting Coldsteam team 3-3 in Dublin

losing streak last Tuesday evening when
they lost to the McNichol team.

the surprisingly tough Coldstream team.

The St. Columban Atom II's ran their
record to three wins and one loss with a
3-2 victory over Arva in Arva on Monday,

SUMMER
RECREATION PROGRAMS
Beginning Monday, July 3, the Seaforth Recreation Department offers a summer program
for children ages 3 to 12 years. Snoopyschool, Playschool and Playground is held at the
Seaforth Public School and operates Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.rn. with super-
vised lunches. Registration fee for both programs is $60.00 per child for the entire 7 weeks,
or 535.00 for /2 days. Activities include games, films, special days, arts and crafts, trips,
sports and many other fun things for the children. Qualified leaders will ensure that your
child has a safe and happy summer.
LEADER IN TRAINING PROGRAM: L.I.T. is a seven week program for boys and girls
ages 13 to 16 years. The Leader -In -Training program not only includes fun and recrea-
tion activities but is also for training and preparing potential teenagers for the positions
of Leaders with the Recreation Department's Summer Programs. The seven -week pro-
, gram will run from July 3 to August 18. and will offer Practical and Theory in Leadership
Training as well as regular recreation activities such as Table Tennis, Basketball, Crafts,
Games, Sports, Films, etc. The registration fee will be $60.00 per person and the program
runs Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Theory part will include workshops
on leadership techniques, group building, discipline, games, etc. Practical experience
would come with working certain days with the Summer Program staff.
