FELL, son of Lorne and Helen Fell of RR 2 Staffa, graduated from Cen- tralia College of Agricultural Technology on May 18, 1989, with a diploma in Agricultural Business Management. Roger is a former graduate of Mitchell District High School. CATHERINE CAMPBELL (KELLY) graduated May 12, 1989 with First Class Honors from McMaster University in Hamilton with her Bachelor of Service in Nursing, and was on the Dean's Honor List throughout her years of schooling. She has been the recipient of the Chancellor's Scholarship, University Scholarship, and the H.L. Hooker Scholarship. Cathy is the wife of Jim Campbell and daughter of Ferg and Arme Kelly of Dublin. WILLIAM FOTHERINGHA1yI, son of Bob and Mary Fotheringham of RR 4 Seaforth, graduated from Ridgetown College of Agricultural Technology on May 19, 1989. William received General Proficiency in Field Crop Production, W.G. Thompson Memorial Awards, and Proficiency in Field Crops Presented by DeKalb Canada Inc. William is a graduate of Huron Centennial School in Brucefield and Central Huron Secondary School in Clinton, He is currently employed with Cargill Fertilizer at RR 4 Clinton. Manor residents participate in brain teasers This week at Seaforth Manor began with weekly visits from Grade 6 Public School students. In the afternoon several residents enjoyed the teary ending of the movie "Nothing in Common" starring Jackie Gleason and Tom Hanks. On Wednesday morning some of- the ladies had their hair done by Joan Flan- nigan in the afternoon residents welcom- ed Rev. Henderson from Exeter for the weekly church service. He led residents through an interesting Mother's Day brain teaser and also enlightened them on the role of the Bible in countries such as China and Russia. A special thanks to Henrietta Brown who was pianist for the service and also to Bob MacMillan for sharing his talents on the mouth organ. Thursday began with fun and fitness! This three times a week activity is at- tended by 10 to 12 of the residents regularly. A volunteer euchre was held in the afternoon with the big winners as follows: Ladies High: Annie Harrison, men's high, Frans Smale, lone 'hands, Pat Ryan, ladies low, Edith Salo, men's low, Mort Mann. Thanks Doreen Kelly for the delicious muffins and Anne Downey for the prizes. This will be the last euchre with the volunteer ladies until September. Thank you - Marjorie Maloney, Eva McCartney, Mary Nolan, Hazel McGonigle, Doreen Kelly and Anne Downey. We look forward to having you back.... The week ended with the May birthday party. Gladys Van Egmond and Elgin Nott entertained with their musical talents. Singing and dancing was enjoyed by both staff and residents. A beautifully decorated cake and ice cream were en- joyed in celebration of Keith Herman's and Lorne Lawson's Birthdays. Nancy, the daughter of Ronald and Mildred MacGregor, attended Huron Centennial School in Brucefield and Seaforth District High School. She plans to attend Althouse College; University of Western Ontario in the autununn. OBITUARIES MARGARET MCBRIEN Margaret McBrien died Thursday, May 25, 1989 at the Callandar Nursing Home in Brussels. She was 84. The former Margaret Pride, she is surviv- ed by a daughter, Joan and husband Ken Miller of Guelph, and grandchildren, Jody and Stacey Miller. Also surviving are sisters, Edith Sperian of Michigan and Gertie Pride of Kitchener; and one brother, Alvin of Kitchener. Mrs. McBrien was predeceased by her husband Secord McBrien; brothers, Seth and Frank, and sisters, Pearl Wheeler, Millie Smalldon, 'Dorothy Rudd and Vera Pride. A funeral service was held at Watts Funeral Home, Brussels Chapel on May 27. Interment was at Brussels Cemetery. In remembrance donations to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated. LILLYLAMA HUIIDIE ' Lilly Laving Hudie of Seaforth Manor, and formerly of Seaforth and McKillop Township, died Monday, May 15, 1989 at the. Seaforth Manor. She was 98. Born in McKillop Township on May 9, 1891, she was the daughter of the late John Rinn and former Lillian Leslie. She is survived by one daughter-inolaw, Alberta (Mrs. Harold Hudie) of London; five grandchildren, Kandy (Mrs. John In- sley) of Edmonton, Margaret (Mrs. Brent Martin) of London, Suzanne Hickson of Ed - nor' 1,n, Donald Hickson of Waterloo and Les Hudie of London; and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Hudie was predeceased by her hus- band Clarence W. Hudie; one son Harold; three sisters, Janie (Mrs. Frank Storey), Mabel (Mrs. John MacKenzie) and Margaret Rinn; and by four brothers, James, Elmer, Hugh and Harry Rinn. Funeral and committal services were held at the Ball and Falconer "Box Funeral Chapel" in Seaforth on May 18. The Reverend Greg Gilson of St. Thomas Anglican Church officiated. Interment Maitland Bank Cemetery. LEW MCCARTER KIRKBY Lew McCarter Kirkby of Seaforth, died Saturday, May 27, 1989 at the Stratford General Hospital. He was 79. Born in Morris Tonwship, he was a son of the late Herbert Kirkby and the former Nan- cy McMichael. • He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Somerville; and two daughters, Betty Malone of Windsor, and Shirley Gordey of Grand Prairie, Alberta. Also surviving are six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mr. Kirkby was predeceased by four brothers, George, Frank, Tom and Robert. A private family service was held on Mon- day at the Whitney-Ribey funeral home in Seaforth. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London.
