Locals part of Boy Choir's Annual
Andrew Dale, Donnie Sills and Jeff Denys
of Seaforth, and Peter Owen Bisback of Hen-
sall, were among the 33 -voice Stratford Boy
Choir Sunday at its Annual Spring Concert
at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in
Stratford. They were joined by their guests
for the evening, the Seaforth Barbershop
Harmony Kings.
This past spring, the boys have been ac-
tively involved in concerts throughout Perth
County as guests of the Mitchell and District
High School. The boys combined their sing-
ing talents with those of the Mitchell choir
and a choir from Gettysburg, Pennyslvania.
In addition, the Stratford Boy Choir enter-
tained guests at the annual dinner meeting
of the Perth County Family and Children
Services.
And at the recent Stratford Music Festival
the choir received 87 marks and first place.
The boys participated in the Dedication
Service for the 1989 Festival Season at the
Third Stage on May 14. The next day choir
conductor Brian Emery led the boys on a
tour of four Stratford and Shakespeare area
schools, allowing the choir to demonstrate
their musical talents as well as fulfill their
wish to perform for their peers.
During June, the Boy Choir will par-
ticipate in the official opening of the new of -
flees for the Sebringville Detachment of the
OPP.
Finishing the school year, the boys will
travel to Toronto on a Listening Excursion,
enjoying dinner out a Lime Rickey's, enter -
Spring Show
taming the staff of the restaurant with the
song Ice Cream", and completing this
outing by attending a concert at the Roy
Thomson Hall featuring thv Harlem Boy
Choir.

Anglican Church Women was held at the
home of Peg Coombs, with Sandra Lee
presiding. A special reading was given by
Barb Palin. The •Secretary and
Treasurer's reports were given.
A profit of over $300 was realized from
the Spaghetti Supper. This event was co -
convened by Shirley Dinsmore and
Marion McLean, who thanked all those
who worked, donated or helped in any
way. The next A.C.W. meeting will be
held on Tuesday, June 6 at 6:30 p.m. at
the home of Ruth Betittenmiller. The
meeting is to be preceded by a Potluck
Supper. The mystery prize winner was
Barb Palin.
The St. Thomas Yard Sale which was
held on May 30 was a great success, the
profit from this event was over $1,000.

THE BOARD'MEETING
The new Sunday School Superintendent,
Joan Spittal, is holding a re -organizing
meeting for the ' Sunday School and the
Nursery School. It will be held on Thurs-
day, June 15 at 7:30 p.m• in the Parish
Hall with refreshments to be served.
There is no age limit on helping so please
come out and help keep the Sunday
School active. Anyone wishing any fur-
ther information please call Joan Spittal

A Parish Family Barbecue is to be held
on Saturday, June 17 on the lawn adja-
cent to the Parish Hall. It will commence
at 3:30 p.m. The Parish Family Commit-
tee is in charge. Please contact Sharon or
Don. Millard for further information.
The new Fund-raising Committee has
been formed for the purpose of serving
St. Thomas Parish only. It is now under
the Chairmanship of Don Millard current
members are Susan Halfpenny and Bob
Palin. Anyone interested in serving on

Reverend .Greg Gilson has been asked
to attend a meeting with .the Town of
Seaforth Recreation Committee to discuss
the concept of the "1855 Club".
Greg accompanied members of the
teaching staff and members of the
students council from the Seaforth High
School in a student exchange with West
Branch, Michigan.
Greg was in attendance at the dinner
meeting of the Optimist Club to express
his appreciation for their sponsoring of
this past event, which he attended as a
representative of Seaforth. The next
board meeting is to be held on Thursda' ,
June 8 at 6:30 p.m. at tut. • Hall.
