LYNNE ADF1.E PENNER, daughter of
John and Elaine Penner of Harpurhey,
graduated from Centralia College of
Agriculture Technology on May 18, 1989,
with a diploma in Food Service Manage-
ment. Lynne is a graduate of the Seaforth
District High School.
l BIRTHS
GIIBSON - It's a girl! Wendy (nee Arm-
strong) and John Gibson (Treemendous)
are thrilled with God's gift of a precious
daughter, Lindsay Ellen, born in Clinton
Public Hospital, on May 12, 1989. Lindsay
tipped the scales at 10 lbs., 61 ozs. Spoiling
privileges go to Jim and Carol Armstrong of
Walkerton and Joe and Isobel Gibson of
Seaforth. Lindsay is delighted to have
Florence Ludvigsen of Clinton, and Don and
Millie MacKenzie of Bracebridge, as her
great grandparents.
WATSON - Jim and Sharon (nee Eedy) are
thrilled to announce the safe arrival of their
firs. child, a son, Brent James, on May 19,
1989 weighing 8 lbs., 10 ozs. Proud grand-
parents are Cliff and Ruby Eedy of Win-
throp, Jim and Betty Watson of Seaforth and
Shirley Watson and Bob Dickson of Strat-
ford. First great grandchild for Beatrice
Storey of Seaforth.
FISHER-SMrrBERS - Bob, Sandra, Court-
ney and MacKenzie, welcome Mathew
Taylor to their family. Born May 12, 1989 he
weighed 9 lbs., 11 ozs. Proud grandparents
are Freda Fisher of Sarnia and Dan and
Sylvia Smithers of London. Proud great
grandmother is Ellen Snaith of London.
OBITUARIES
BEVERLEY ROSS THOMSON
Beverley Ross Thomson of
Tuckersmith Township, died Sunday,
May 21, 1989 at Huronview in Clinton. He
was 81.
Mr. Thomson is survived by his second
wife, the former Elizabeth Pardo of
Tuckersmith Township; a daughter Anne
(Mrs. Robert Ste. Marie) of Tuckersmith
Township and a son David of Port Credit:
Also surviving are seven grandchildren
and two great grandchildren.
Mr. Thomson was predeceased by his
first wife, the former Jean Harvey; two
brothers, Donald and George; and one
sister, Kathleen.
Family and friends called at the
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home in Seaforth
and a funeral service was held Wednes-
day at the funeral home. Interment
Hillview United Cemetery, Woodstock.
A Royal Canadian Legion Memorial
Service was held on Tuesday evening, as
was a Masonic Service.
As expressions of sympathy donations
may be made to the Alzheimer's Society
or to the Seaforth Community Hospital
Building Fund.
MADELINE SLATTERY
Madeline Slattery of Seaforth, died Thurs-
day, May 18, 1989 at the Seaforth Communi-
ty Hospital. She was 84.
The former Madeline Bertrand, she is sur-
vived by two nieces, Isabelle Roter and Jane
Verch; two nephews, Bernard McNally and
Tom McNally; and one brother-in-law, Am-
brose Slattery and his wife Annette, of
Hanover.
Mrs. Slattery was predeceased by her
husband James Leo Slattery in 1987.
Friends were received at the Whitney-
Ribey Funeral Home in Seaforth and a Mass
of Christian burial was celebrated Friday at
St. James Roman Catholic Church. Burial
was in St. James cemetery.
Parish prayers were said on Friday at the
funeral home.
DAYMAN-SCHON
Michelle Anne Dayman and Brian Otto
Schon were married Saturday, May 20 1989
at Trinity Lutheran Church in London, by
the Reverend Dr. T. Ristine. The bride is the
daughter of Howard and Marg Dayman of
RR 3 Kippen and the groom is the.son of Wilf
and Doreen Schon of RR 4 Denfield. Maid of
honor was Joanne Moir of Hensall and
bridesmaids were Charlene Dayman of RR
3 Kippen, Linda Schon of RR 4 Denfield and
Lisa Hedley of London. Flowergirl was Jen-
na Dayman of Hensall. Best man was Rick
Hall of Lucan and guests were ushered by
Jerry Dayman of Lucan, Jeff Pedersen of
RR 3 Denfield and John Hedley of London.
Ringbearer was Danny Moir of Hensall.
Organist was Donna Hutchison and soloist
was Marlene Mathers. Following a recep-
tion at the Lucan Community Centre the
couple took a honeymoon trip to Nassau,
Bahamas. They -will reside at London.

WALLACE-MARTIN
Mr. and Mrs. Brad Martin are pictured
following their marriage at St. Andrews
Presbyterian Church in Stratford on Satur-
day, April 8, 1989 at 3 p.m.. The bride is the
daughter of Pat and Laverne Wallace of
Cromarty. The groom is the son of Dorothy
and the late Harold Martin of RR 1
Petersburg, Ont. The matron of honor was
Jane Van Nes, friend of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Joanne Wallace, sister of
the bride, Betty Ann Martin, sister of the
groom, and Marie Chessell, friend of the
bride. Best man was Barry Martin, brother
of the groom, ushers were Greg Weeden,
Kevin Weeden and Max Lass, friends of the
groom. Rev. J. Dickie officiated for the
ceremony. Soloists were Cindy Tanner and
Joanne Wallace, and the organist was Carol
Ann Scott. The couple are now living at RR
32 Cambridge, Ontario.
OLIVER-CULBERT
A quiet wedding took place on March 23,
1989 at Wesley -Willis United Church in Clin-
ton, when Lynn Culbert, daughter of Harvey
and Becky Culbert of Dungannon, and Bob
Oliver, son of Dorothy Kramers of Clinton,
were united in marriage. The bride was
given by her son, Corey Culbert and her
father. The matron of honor was Donna
Oliver of Winthrop, sister-in-law of the
groom. The best man was Walter Oliver of
Winthrop, brother of the groom. The
newlyweds celebrated with family and
friends at the Acropol Restaurant, Seaforth.
They honeymooned in the United States.

LENSELINK-WYNJA
Mary Elizabeth Lenselink and Martin
Wynja were united in marriage at a
beautiful, winter, evening ceremony March
18, 1989 at the Harriston Reformed Church.
Pastor John Heeg officiated the double ring
ceremony, and Reverend Henry Van Essen
delivered the message, Mrs. Adriana
Klaasen played the music. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lenselink of
Palmerston and the groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Gerrit Wynja of Seaforth. Matron
of honor was Gerrilynne Jones, sister of the
bride, and bridesmaids were Diane William-
son, sister of the bride and Corrie Moir,
sister of the groom. Tracey Jones, niece of
the bride, was flower girl. Best man was
Allen Wynja, brother of the groom and
guests were ushered by Gerber, Wynja,
brother of the groom and Richard
Lenselink, brother of the bride. 'Daryl
Young, nephew of the groom, was
ringbearer. Special guests attending the
wedding included four relatives from
Holland. After the ceremony a large group
of friends gathered at the Harriston Legion
Hall for a reception. The happy couple
honeymooned in Florida and now reside at
RR 4 Seaforth.
