CECILIA RYAN 345-2028 The April meeting of the St. Columban Catholic Women's League was held in the rectory meeting room on April 19 with 20 members, Father Hardy and Sister Rita Coyne present. Margaret O'Reilly, president, opened the meeting with the league prayer. Minutes were read and correspondence read includ- edthank you cards, letters from the adopted families in India, and the Children's Aid Society for gifts at Christmas. A donation will be sent to the Perth County Children's Aid for the summer camp fund. Annual reports given by members or the executive showed a busy and successful year. The annual June Social and Tea will be held on Wednesday, June 14 at 8 p.m. in the parish hall. The nominating committee brought in the new slate of officers for the 1989-90 ex- ecutive as follows: Past President, Margaret O'Reilly; President, Mary Anne Feeney; 1st vice, Maria Vogels; 2nd vice, Mary Coyne; 3rd vice, Martha Murray'.' Recording Secretary, Catherine Ryan; Cor- responding Secretary, Sherri Cronin and Treasurer, Ricki Van Steelandt. Marg A DINOSAUR'S NEST was constructed by St. Columban School's Kelly Murray, Jeff Kroonen, Joey Staples, and Nicholas Vink as part of the dinosaur unit the school was doing for Education Week in Huron County this week. The students said they learned dinosaurs were some of the longest and biggest animals on earth, and that they may have been mammals and not reptiles as was previously believed. All Were guests with Joe and Wendy and family at their home following Holy Mass. Louis Nolan and Joe and Helen Nolan visited Jaines Nolan in St. Thomas on Sun- day and toured his newwbarn,•which was destroyed by fire last July, Deb, Tammy, Tracy and Kim Janmaat, Jenny Cornish and Darren Janmaat attend- ed the baptism of Matthew John Janmaat on Sunday, April 23. Morgan and Michelle Murray are in Quebec City this week as part of a French exchange program. MCJ{ILLOP IV 4-H NEWS The McKillop 1V 4-H club spent Saturday in Milton at the Ontario Agriculture Museum.' Besides seeing how the pioneers worked and lived, they watched three border collies herding sheep in champion- ship style. Congratulations go to Tanya Van Steelandt for completing her sixth club for country honors and also for winning the new member award for encouraging three new people to join 4-H. The next club is called "Let's Landscape" and the leaders will attend a' workshop at Baker's Nursery on May 10. Due to the large club we are going to divide the members up and Marie Vogels and Mary Coyne will be leading as well as .Cora de Vries and Jan- neke Murray.
