An estimated 2,000 people turned out at . last year's show, and the Seaforth Agricultural Society, organizers of the event for a second year, are hoping the number is • +;anal to, if not better, than that this year. Approximately 60 exhibitors have book- ed space (at $12 per foot), and will man booths which offer information on everything from real estate, lawn fur- niture and landscaping to local groups and organizations - and cars. In addition, this year's home and garden show will feature booths from various food producer organizations, and many will be offering free samples to the public. The Fair Board will be promoting its December Toy Show, and the Ladies Divi- sion will be offering a quilt display. As an added attraction, there will be microwave cooking demonstrations. Like last year's show, the 1989 Seaforth Home and Garden Show will run for two nights o - Wednesday, April 26 and Thursday, April 27. By organizing the Home anbd Garden Show for a Wednesday and Thursday ni t, e Agricultural 'Society is hoping to draw a crowd that might have been otherwise occupied if the show had been sche:ded for a weekend. The evening hours ,o make it easier on the business people to be present at their displays without worrying about the business they've left behind. It also avoids competition from neigh 'ring towns and cities. The show has been deli:_ ed so it breaks even, and not as a money -making venture. As a result, admission to the s y4w ,is free. And, as an added benefit, everyone who at- tends will have the opportunity to win one of 10-$100 vouchers (five given out each night), which can be used at any of the 60 businesses on exhibit.
