After entering the third period tied at one apiece, due to az. early goal by Ray Beirling, Ryan Kyle scored a waist high slap shot from the blur line followed a few minutes later with another goal by Beirling to finish the scoring In the second game, the teams again entered the third period tied at one apiece only this time the adversaries were the team from Kincardine. Jason Campbell scored the early goal. After holding out through a two man disadvantage early ii. the third period, Hensall went on a scorine spree starting with Blair Moir. followed by a pair from Dan 'Taylor and one from Ryan Kyle, to end the game 5-1 for the Hensel: team. In the championship game later the same day. Ray Heirlmg, assisted by Dar Taylor. scored the opening goal against e strong team. Listowel Red. Dan Taylot scored in the second. ending the scoring in a 2-0 game. Hensall Atoms - W.O.A.A Atom House League Grand Champions The great season that this team has bad can be attributed to a great effort from all of the guys on the team and great coaching from Gary Kvii. Bill Taylor and Pau: McChnchey Hensel' Tykes "A Champs' Dub Hensall Tykes rose to the occasion and defeated the Goderich Collegiate Sports Mites 4-3 in the final game of the Huron - Perth Tier ti Houseleague championships The league rivals had met three times through the year in regular season play with Goderich winning two of the three games. The final game was all that any crowd could ask for with end to end action. solid goaltending and two overtime periods Both teams played ari exciting first period with great scoring opportunities, but were unable •to beat either goalie. Jeff Campbell finally put Hensel] on the board one minute into the second period after skating through the Goderich defense and picking the corner of the net. It was an ex- citing moment for young Campbell as he notched his 200th goal of the season One minute and 10 seconds later. Goderich's Ben McAdam slid one past goalie Jeremy Willert to tie the score Jeff Campbell then took over, scoring his second goal of the game 30 seconds later and completing his hat trick with just over five minutes remaining in the second period. Goderich fought back and Chris Fielder scored two goals in a forty second span to once again tie the game at the end of the second period Great defensive play by both young squads resulted m a scoreless third period. The first three-minute overtime session was exciting. as several attempts by Casey O'Brien and Jeff Campbell to score were denied by Goderich goalie Brad Powell. Hensall goalie Jeremy Willert was again outstanding. In the sudden death. second overtime period Jeff Campbell scored into an empty net with 1:28 remaining to give Hensel] the win. Hensall advanced to the final game in the tournament with a win over Huron Park 6-4. Jeff Campbell led the scoring with five goals and Ryan Groot with one Hensall defeated Bavfield 6-0 in the first game. Congratulations boys on a great season. We returned home by Washington. D.C. to spend a few days with Ken and Mary MacRae and fainia Jim and Donna Paratchek. Beverley and Gregory, are holidaying in Disney World. Florida, for a few weeks. They left last Saturday and got as tar as 'Exeter when their motorhome caught fire. After a terri- fying few hours. they made it back to Dublin and transferred vehicles to ,continue en route to Florida. Mrs. Millie Evans spent the weekend in London with Jack and Marie Cleary. Also with Millie last week were Joe and Rose followed by a Family Dance. Queensway residents ensoy Garden Brothers Circus Women of the Presbyterian Church played Bingo with Queensway residents and supplied prizes Monday afternoon. They.wiil be volunteering each Monday this month and residents are pleased to have them. Tuesday morning several residents work- ed out at Fun and Fitness. Pastor Alles led the worship service in the afternoon with Gertie Fleichaur as pianist. Baking Club met Wednesday and whipped up treats'for residents to take to the circus Friday. Thursday's movie was "Peter Pan," and was enjoyed by residents Garden Brothers Circus in London was one of the highlights of the week.
