Seaforth Bantams behind in OMHA final series
The Seaforth Bantams lost games one and Last Tuesday night Seaforth travelled to

three to score five goals and then two goals
respectively.
The third game was back in Oak Ridges
Sunday night. The game ended in a 1343 tie.
Seaforth was leading by three goals by the
end of period one. Jason McNichol scored
Seaforth's first goal. Jasen Muir assisted.

wain and Steve Papple scored unassisted

again for Seaforth, but Oak Ridges popped

period.
In period two, Steve Papple started the
scoring with an unassisted goal. Jasen Muir.
assisted by Ted Sills, scored Seaforth's
eighth goal. Oak Ridges came back with two
quick goals. Jasen Muir scored again
unassisted to put Seaforth ahead by five
goals. However, Oak Ridges scored six
unanswered goals to put them ahead before
the end of period two.
Period three was • tense, Seaforth tied the
game with goals by Jasen Muir, assisted by
Jason McNichol and Ted Sills, and an
unassisted goal by Brent van den Akker.
Oak Ridges went ahead once again, but
Seaforth tied the game with another
unassisted goal by Brent van den Akker.
Period three ended in a 12-12 tie.
In overtime Steve Papple, assisted by
Mark Smaleaputlieaforth ahead. However.
with 18 seconds left on the clock Oak Ridges
scored to end the game with a 13-13 score.
Game four and five are in Seaforth Tues-
day night at 8:30 and Friday at 8:30. Satur-
day's game is in Oak Ridges and Sunday the
game is back in Seaforth at 2 p.m.

The Orioles retained first place in the St.
James Bowling League playoff race. They
have a 69 pin lead over the second place
Falcons after three weeks of competition.
The Orioles. recorded games of 941. 990.
1027 and a 2958 total. Gerry Armstrong had
another fine evening with games of 265, 269,
235. and a 769 'triple, Harry Den Haan 215 -
592 and Reg Chappel 219-555.
The Falcons bowled games of 1011, 977,
932 -2920 to hold second place. Murray Ben-
newies led the Falcons with 321, 201, 234 - 756
and Brian Love 245 - 624.
The Eagles remain in third place after
games of 961, 985, 951 - 2897. George Love
was high with 286, 219, 222 - 727. Don Nolan
243, 252 - 677 and Marilyn Den Haan 222 - 536.

The Blue Jays kept pace with scores of
• • 893, 960, 103 7 - and a 2890 triple. Jim Dalrym-
ple was the leader with 204, 222 - 622, Karen
Hoegy 271- 609,. Connie Marion 222 - 580, and
Pat Nolan 204 - 566.
The Cardinals bowled games of 1032, 907,
943 - 2882 with Sandy Broadfoot 264, 244 - 685
and Todd. Caldwell 236, 200 - 595 being top
bowlers.
The Hawks also kept pace with scores of
969, 960, 954 - 2882. Dan Bennewies 205, 268 -
660, Joanne Aubin 218, 219 - 626, Kevan
Broome 2,32 - 597 and Pat Ryan 207 - 497,
helped the scoring.
Standings after three weeks of playoffs
are: Orioles - 8876; Falcons - 8807; Eagles -
8635; Blue Jays - 8571; Cardinals - 8424 and
Hawks - 8397.
Atoms win away
The Seaforth Atoms hockey team is up
two games to none in the final OMHA best -
of -five hockey series against Six Nations.
The Atoms won the opening game of the
series on Wednesday by a score of 6-2, and
won the second game Monday night by a
score of 3-2. A win in game three will give
them the All Ontario Championship.
Game three will be played Saturday in
Seaforth at 4:30 p.m. If a fourth and fifth
game are needed, the Seaforth Atoms will
travel to Six Nations on Sunday then return
to home ice on Monday.

Seaforth started the scoring early in game
one, and led at the end of the first stanza by

one goal. Another goal in the second, and
one by Six Nations, made the score 2-1 for
Seaforth. Four more goals in the third
period, against only one for Six Nations,
secured the win.
In game two, Seaforth was again on the
scoreboard early, but Six Nations evened
things up seconds later, then moved ahead
before the first period ended.
Hard work paid off for the Atoms in the se-
cond period, and they were able to net the
puck twice to move into a 3-2 lead. Seaforth
held onto that lead throughout a scoreless
third period, despite Six Nations pulling
their goalie in the 'final two minutes of the
game.
