Ministry of Municipal - Affairs Junin Eanin, Mmisn- Ontario In support of your Local Government Week Celebrations. Thirty members and guests of the Marian Ritchie Women's Missionary Society en- joyed a bounteous potluck dinner at noon on Good Friday. Following the meal, the president, Hazel Harburn opened the March meeting with a poem, Easter Greetings. The roll call, An Easter Custom, was answered by 14 members and 10 visitors. Betty Lou Norris was in charge of the wor- ship service using the Easter Worship Ser- vice from the Glad Tidings magazine, Scrip- tures and meditations were read by Mrs. Norris, Roberta Templeman, Doris Miller and Ruth Laing. Edna Stoneman, in her topic entitled Take the Beauty to the Roses, encouraged all to `think beauty, expect beauty, and find beauty' wherever you go, starting now. A film strip, Mandella, was shown by Lillian Don • as and Lucie Milne, It focussed on the lives of women in South Africa where the women and children have to live on the reserves while the father lives and works in town. Most women not only have to. look after the children, but also have to do all the farming. In order to support their families some mothers have to leave them at home while they go to town to work as domestics. Some domestics have formed a workers' organization to bargain with employers and the government. Some have also joined their husbands to fight apartheid and have resisted strongly the government's at- tempts to make them carry pass books which limit their movement in the area. The .meeting closed with the hymn, And Can It Be, and an Easter Benediction. The congregation of Hibbert ' United Church joined with Cromarty Presbyterian Church for the annual Good Friday servict at 8 p.m. With Mrs. Ivan Norris at the organ the joint choir sang Blessed Redeemer. Scriptures were read by Mrs. Calvin ChriStie, Mrs. William Mahon, and Pastor Debbie Hoekstra, who also gave the medita- :ions on the scriptures. The Rev.
