His sister Melissa blissfully works on her picture on the right. The Van Bakers were two of 15 children in . Seaforth to participate in the plasticine workshop at the Seaforth library. Corbett photo Waste .management questi Huron County residents are being given the opportunity to provide valuable input in- to decisions regarding future waste management in Huron County. An evalua- tion criteria questionnaire has been mailed to a random sample of about 1,200 residents in the County. The questionnaire is designed to determine community values regarding the importance of protecting various com- ponents of the environment from impacts of a waste management system. The survey is a component of the work be- ing undertaken in conjunction with the Huron County Waste Management Master Plan. The information gathered will be used DANIELLE KISTENER puts a plasticine border on her picture•of-a flower. These are issues which will be'under consideration in the upcoming stages of the Master Plan study. The survey results will be compiled and included as part of the Waste Management Master Plan Stage 1 Final Report, scheduled for comple- tion in the next few months. In addition to being distributed to a ran- dom sample of residents the questionnaire is available to any resident of Huron County wishing to complete it..Questionnaires have already been distributed at both public and informal meetings and have generated a great deal of interest, and a high rate of response. Residents are urged to provide their input regarding community values in developing strategies for future waste management, Jo -Anne Richter, Project Coordinator of the. Waste Management Study advises that residents who were not selected in the ran- dom sample, and did not receive a question- naire in the mail, may obtain one by contac- ting her at the Huron County Department of Planning and Development, Courthouse, Goderich, Ontario, N7A 1M2, 5242188. She requests that all questionnaires be com- pleted and returned by April 7, 1989. Seaforth PUC ::°tom look at water simply capacity The Seaforth Public Utilities Commission has • begun discussion about the proposed John Hart development west of Seaforth. The utility will in future be looking at its current water system, to see what it will be able to supply the development with, if re- quested, and what the cost would be. On- tario Hydro, and not the Seaforth utility, will be responsible for supplying the develop- ment with hydro. Many questions regarding the feasibility of wells, fire protection, etc. have to be answered. A ratepayer noticed water sprinkling out of the water tower, and reported it to the utility. PUC Manager Tom Phillips says the TOOLS OF THE TRADE are important to the plasticine artist, and tor his work; seen here, Michael Van Bakel uses pencil, scissors, popsicle stick,' a blueprint, and of course plasticine to construct his three dimensional picture.
