The friends of Mra Johnathan Wil-
lard, of West Wawanosh, jut near
Auburn, were not surprised to hoar of
her death which 000urre e on Thursday
morning, April 4th, after an illness in
bed of three months, suffering from
dropsy. Deceased wan born in Kingston
and was married there, moving to the
farm near Auburn about 37 years ago.
Besides the husband a family of three
sons and two daughters are left to mourn
the loss of a kind and affectionate wife
and mother, three children have been
ba.ied, Mre Willard had always been
a kind healthy woman and was a kind
neighbor, always ready to give a help-
ing hand iu time of need. Her age watt
71 years, 2 months and 22 days, She
was a member of the Methodist church,

Mies Effie rot, of Craubrook, were
married Wednesday evening of last week
by Rev. H. M. Lang•Ford.
Miss Carrie McCracken, of Brussels,
was the ohoice out of 22 applications, of
trustees of a school in Elms township,as
successor to Mr. hove, who has resigned.
The anneal organization meeting of
Brussels Foot Ball Club was held and

John R. Savage and family have
moved to their new farm near Dungan-
non, and Joseph and Mrs Raynard have
moved to the house vacated by Mr acid

To the long list of elderly people who
have passed away in tete township dur-
ing the past winter we have to add the
name of Robert .Inglis, who died at his
home, lot 7, con 7 on Monday, April 18th
after a very brief illness, in his 77th
year. He was able to go to Brume's) on
Saturday and was in his aucustomed
plane iu Melville churoh, Brussels on
Sabbath morning, so that the report of
his demise name as quite a shock to the
community. Deceased was an old resi-
dent of Grey and was a thrifty and pros-
perous farmer. His native laud was
Scotland. Mrs Inglis predeceased him a
few years ago, from whence he and his
youngest son, David, have coutinued to
reside on the farm, the other children
living in Dakota. The subject of this
notice was an indastrions, honest going
man and known to many of our readers,
he having resided ou the same farm tor
many years. IIe was a Presbyterian in
religion and a Liberal in politics.

Mr. David Irving, of the 2nd line was
visiting in Toronto for a few days. He
brought home an immigrant, who will
assist him in his farm work.
Owing to the illness of a nephew of
Mrs. (Dr.) Lambie at Midland, Mich.,
she and Dr. Lambie were called to their
home lost weelt, shortening up their visit
with old Friends here.
Word was received by Robert Sonob,
3rd line, 'that his brother Thomas, of
Orono, Ont., had passed away on Sun-
day, April 7rli. He was about 70 years
of age. Funeral tock place on Tuesday.
Three weelts previous, another brother,
James, of Tyrone, Durham Co., died of
pneumonia at the age of G3 years, His
wife paid Nature's debt a week later
from the same ailment. Mr. Souoh, of
Morris, has been a prisoner to his home
for the past three years. In addition to
the loss of his eyesight ho suffered a
Stroke of paralysis which has interfered
with his locomotion we aro sorry to
state.

and Geo, Kelly and wife met. The par

among the pioneers of Morrill having

Mr and Mrs Richard Magee of the and
line of Howiok, have lived to see what
few married couples live to see, fifty
years of happy wedded life. The event
was celebrated at their home on Mon-
day, .April 8th On April 8th 1857, Mr.
Richard Magee and Miss Eliza Henderson
were united in marriage at Hellin,
township of Maryboro by the late Rev.
Henry Reid. Mr Wm Henderson now
deceased, and Mrs Hamilton of Palmer-
ston were the groomsman and brides-
maid respectively. After their marriage
they resided on the Sth line of Peel for
wtenty-eight years, and then moved to
the 2nd line of Howiok where they have
resided for the last twenty-two years.
