4-H leaders needed
Do you believe you can change the world?
4-H believes you can! Are you interested in
young people between the ages of 11 and 21?
Are you committed to helping them grow
and mature? Are you willing to delegate
responsibility to them?
If you answered yes to these questions,
you should consider being a 441 leader for
the following two projects.
Home and Farm Safety - Looking out for
No. 1. The 1989 Home and Farm Safety pro-
ject will focus on personal protection. The
human factor is critical in accident preven-
tion. Topics to address this include nutri-
tion, protective equipment, fire safety, in-
surance, emergency, readiness and drug
abuse. Learn how to protect yourself and
others in this year's Home and Farm Safety
project.
Energy Conservation - We all use energy!
This project will focus on saving energy, be-
ing a conscientious user and recycling.
Other topics include insulation and packag-
ing. Ask yourself - what would happen if you
did not have hydro for a week? Examine the
consequences in the 1989 4-H Conservation
project.
Please call Nick or Jane at the Clinton
OMAF office for more details and informa-
tion on leader training.

MARCH 17, 1939
Police and officers of the Fire Marshall's
Department, who have been probing recent
Hensall fires, have concluded their in-
vestigations, but have issued no report. A
number of witnesses were examined.
• Citizens, while regretting that nothing
definite was found by the investigation, are
confident that the activity will discourage
any further work by the firebug, who is
believed responsible for the fires.
Flu continues to take its toll in Seaforth
and surrounding communities. Schools, par-
ticularly, are feeling the strength of the
epidemic, many pupils being absent from
each classroom. At the Collegiate, Principal
G.A. Ballantyne has been absent for some
days, confined to his home with the flu.
Advisability of installing a police signal
light or lights on Main Street was discussed
by council at its March meeting. The signal
system would include one or more lights,
which would show red upon a call being
phoned for police. The lights would remain
on until police had answered the call.
MARCS 22, 1964

business mingled with Seaforth citizens
Monday in St. Thomas' Anglican Church to
pay a last tribute to Mayor Earl Dinsmore.

He was 54.
Seaforth councillors, at a special meeting
Wednesday night, chose councillor Angus
MacLean as Mayor to fill the vacancy
resulting from the death of Mayor Earl
Dinsmore. He becomes the 36th person to
hold the office.

Grieve's Bridge in McKillop is mooted in a
brief forwarded this week to Hon. Charles S.
McNaughton, Minister of Highways.
